To make a long story short my current job wasn't quite enough to cover all of my bills anymore. Decided to to take up a second job. Nothing major, just a part time minimum wage to cover the extra expenses. However, when asked if I was currently employed during the interview and I said I was, they asked when I would be able to leave my current job to work for them. When I explained that I wasn't quitting my current job, I just needed this one to cover extra expenses, they told me there really wasn't any point in continuing with the interview in that case. Since when can I not have two jobs? My current job doesn't have any requirements of exclusivity like that and I'm not sure why a minimum wage job would either.

they probably asked that question because of the working hours that they need from you would not be flexible enough for their schedule..try a different place...many people have 2 jobs now because the wages have not gone up in the last years but inflation has...wonder why?..they lied about the true inflation rate so businesses match that rate for raises..1.2 % a year...real inflation is around 9% a year..

No, it's not the hours. We had already agreed upon hours previously and I had set them up to not conflict with my other job at all. Any other ideas? Haven't found anything else anywhere.
