I have been at a job that I love for 18 years. Unfortunately, my company was purchased recently and the new management is going a strange direction, so, even though I want to stay, I don't think it's good for my mental health.

I haven't actively interviewed for a job in well over 25 years. I got my current job by excelling at a temp gig, so there was no interview.

So, will someone in HR recruiting or with similar experience point me to a good place to read up on how it's done, now? There's hundreds of sites, but in the age of "don't believe anything you read," I'm hesitant to know who to trust.

I found a great job on LinkedIn, and when I hit apply, they ask for my Linkedin profile link and for me to attach my resume. This seems redundant to me. I don't have a resume; I thought that LinkedIn replaced the need.

Looking for any guidance in this area, regarding resumes, LinkedIn and interviewing.

    Thank you.

You definitely need a resume but you can upload it to LinkedIn and just simply submit it from there.

You can easily make a resume yourself but since you've been off the market for awhile I would have it professionally done and they will have a better understanding of the current job market and what resume's are best for you.

It is what you are paying them for and its not super expensive.

And LinkedIn is quickly becoming the goto site for professionals so that is a great route to go.

I would not bother with craigslist or others for your jobsearch.

You should just spend a few days getting to know how LinkedIn works, get your resume professionally uploaded, and the job is yours!

    I wish you the best!
