We were just discussing Rogan's beef with Neil Young, and when some of us labeled Rogan a racist, we were promptly attacked by the righties here, with insults and allegations of how "the left" calls everyone racist ... that was the gist.

Well, if you can listen to his podcast from Tuesday and still claim that Rogan isn't racist, please share some of what you've been smoking. :smoking:

    https://www.thedailybeast.com/joe-r...ck-unless-theyre-from-darkest-place-of-africa

"Unless you are talking to someone who is, like, 100 percent African from the darkest place where they are not wearing any clothes all day and they have developed all of that melanin to protect themselves from the sun, even the term Black is weird."

Yes, he actually said "not wearing any clothes." Is Rogan incredibly ignorant, or just blatantly racist? I vote for "both of the above."

    Here’s the exact quote:

Rogan replies: "Unless you are talking to someone who is like 100% African from the darkest place where they are not wearing any clothes all day ... the term Black is weird."

remember, Rogan endorsed Sanders. Sanders aligns with Biden. Calling Rogan a racist means Biden is a racist. But we already knew that.

I knew a Puerto Rican guy who was so black his skin tone was purple. He was darker than anyone from Africa. Yet if you called him black or an Afro American he got upset and denied it.

I'm loving all of the desperate attacks against Rogan.

He's taking down so many false narratives and is taking down the MSM single handedly.

The left will always tell you who they are afraid of.

I've never listened to him, so this may be pointless. I don't believe that it matters because the distinction is designed because all Americans don't live in the same country.

When people are offended and say they are not racist it usually means they don't have the interests in understanding what that actually means.

For example, a white person may say

"Well, I don't use the 'n' word" (but his/her actions definitely reflect discriminatory behavior).

"Well, Obama was elected so race relations are just fine. (White people are NEVER lumped together. All other ethnic groups are).

Or a black person might say...

    "I hate all <whatever they say>

Or an Asian person might say....

    I will never work with a <whatever target group>

Or a Hispanic person might say...

    That f****ing Gringo.

    and on and on.

However, even in the scenarios in which the last three statements are made, white people still have the privilege. It doesn't matter what they say, where they work, what they do, they know with absolute certainty that other white people will be the arbiters somewhere along a disagreement.

    --------------------------------

Also, many people don't know there are white Hispanics and black Hispanics. For most white people, they are all "Mexican". Remember the show with JoAnna Kerns "Growing Pains"?

    She's Hispanic.

    Image1b.jpg

Lynda Carter (original "Wonder Woman" is half Mexican, half white.

    Image2c.jpg

Many Americans can't tell the difference between Chinese, Japanese, Korean or other Asian ethnic groups. Everybody gets lumped into "Chinese" or "Oriental".

So, without knowing much about him or whatever he does, this comment kind of comes off as "forced" if that makes sense. He already has privilege to make that statement but he is also making an unsubstantiated claim which is designed to force the listener to associate those words. It's kind of like a back-handed compliment.

In one statement he is saying both...

    (1) This isn't the right word for a culture that I'm not a part of and have no business labeling,

    AND

    (2) I'm going to insert the "National Geographic" picture in your head about what Africans in the deep part of Africa look like.

He may not be racist, but he sounds like an idiot.

Well just to dispel your stereotype about most white people I myself say Hispanic and I also say Asian.

And remember I'm one of those evil Trump people you love to hate.

Personally I don't particularly understand why blacks would refer to themself as African-American unless they just immigrated here from Africa.

If you must hyphenate your name and you're born in America this would make you an American African.

You know if you can't just stand to say I'm an American.

Joe is neither left or right, he does upset some on both sides though, more center (with some out there views in some areas for sure)

    https://www.revolt.tv/article/2021-12-29/146291/joe-rogan-michelle-obama-trump-president-reactions/

"“I really believe if Michelle Obama runs, she wins,” Rogan said. “She’s great. She’s intelligent, she’s articulate, she’s the wife of the best president that we have had in our lifetime in terms of, like, a representative of intelligent, articulate people.”"

You know correct me if I'm wrong but I could swear the last time I looked at the actual definition of racism it means that you believe that your race is superior While others are inferior.

While his statement may have been a rather stupid one to make I don't see where he expressed that he believed that they are inferior or that some other race is in fact, Superior.

    BWAAA HAHAHAHAHA!

    :roflol:

That's not even worth an honorable mention, unless you're aiming for 1st prize in pretzel logic. Methinks your spin cycle is broken.

This isn't about Rogan's political views or the candidates he supports. This is about his personal bigotry. I understand the need for defensiveness when someone you admire shows his true colors (pun intended), but this was truly desperate.

How is this a desperate attack? All I'm doing is putting Rogan's own words on display.

Can you seriously defend his words here on race? Are you sure he deserves your admiration? That is, in essence, what I'm asking and why I started this thread.

I think he's both racist and deliberately ignorant about racism. Or he knows better, and is pandering to specific element in our society.

just like I can support Obama, think Obama is not a racist, yet think his use of the n-word was wrong and racist sounding

I can think a white person can not be racist, yet say some things that may be or sound racist

did you support Obama using the n-word, would you of supported Trump using it in the same context?

if one thinks something is ok or not based on the race of the one doing it, that is racist

talking about race is hard, and many from every side of the issue will be upset with you at times if one is trying to be honest when talking about the issue, which is why most won't touch the issue with a 10-foot pole

God. I hate that emoji or whatever that thing is.

What is wrong with that comment to which you replied?

And, of course Biden is racist. Everybody over 300 years old is racist. No spoiler alert needed. Who cares? He at least makes the effort not to be total <censoring myself> 24/7.

Bonus!! Biden is not a career criminal, pathological liar idiotic cry baby with bone spurs. Anything is better than that slimy snake having a year long nervous breakdown in public. Take your mental problems somewhere and stop embarrassing those of us that REALLY care about our country (and that's not the people that kiss his backside).

You want me to take his long form podcast, focus on a single quote, from a biased media outlet, and conclude he's racist.

He's not racist and he gets more views than most of the MSM combined.

I'm reminded of that Batman movie where Bain asks another "Do you feel in charge?"

Probably. The issue is most white don't understand they live in a different country so some may not be intentionally obtuse but some are, like the penultimate Orange Stain is just stuck on stupid. Most other people try to have some semblance of social decorum.

And, thanks for your comment. Reason #474,984,241 I don't watch television or listen to talk radio.

I'm not trying to silence anyone. I'm just trying to point out the feet of clay on one of the political pundits that the right admires enough to vehemently defend on a regular basis.

You are free to keep admiring whoever you like, but do you reaaly want to hide from the truth about those you admire? Personally, if I admire a politiciam or a leader of any kind, I want to know if he or she used to pick their nose in public, metaphorically speaking. Maybe that's just me and my trust issues, but I don't trust anyone without their having earned it, and I drop my admiration when this kind of thing is revealed and reliably verified.

That was included in the part where I said stupid.

Now I would call that a stereotype, I don't know if that rises to the level of racism.
