Got your facts a bit wrong. The first case was in early December not 44 days before the 31st. By the middle of January there were only 44 cases, all of who recovered. It didn't explode in China and elsewhere until the third week in January. The virus wasn't identified, genetically until January 9th.

Quite possibly the reason the virus didn't spread so much in China is because large numbers of people had already been regularly wearing masks in public because of the pollution, which is very bad in Chinese cities.

A travel ban of people from Wuhan China would have had no effect as the Chinese had already quarantined the city and no one was leaving.

Trump, at first said that there were only 15 cases, soon to be zero. That it would blow over once it got warm.

 

He was saying the virus was inconsequential and it was a hoax to say it mattered. There are still people around the country who think it is a hoax, as to its seriousness, thanks to Trump, the president of low expectations.

 

That conservatives are so willing to overlook Trump's corruption and dishonesty does not mean that he is not corrupt and dishonest.

Why is it I wonder, that when Republîcans are president, there is a great deal of criminality and plenty of the president's men end up in prison. Yet when Democrats are president, almost none.

 

You do realize that newsprint is manufactured at a paper mill and not at newspaper companies. Toilet paper is also made at paper mills.

1. First identified case was a 55 year old in Wuhan. He was identified as being sick with a new Sars-like virus on November 17, and the Chinese Government did not report that case until December 31. (You have to question their decision to release this information on New Years Eve.)

2. On January 9, the released the Genetic Data of the virus, but that is not when they first mapped the Genome.

3. The reason the Chinese spread was limited is because they have only one ground zero. In every other country, those infected in Wuhan returned home all over their countries. In the US the first case was discovered in Washington State, and the second was in Illinois.

 

I expect it more from a conservative then I do from a liberal!!!!!

I think you thought that because they did lockdown Wuhan that it meant the rest of the country but they didn't. They threw huge Lunar New years events in major cities and spread the virus like crazy the SAME DAY Trump issued the travel ban and Dems cried racism.

You are trying to claim something that is not reality. On January 21st the Chinese locked down Wuhan. Trump didn't order a travel ban until January 31. The previous post, the one I responded to specifically mentioned Wuhan.

The virus has all but stopped spreading in China. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the fact that large numbers of Chinese, especially those in the cities have been routinely wearing masks in public because of the pollution. It seems the virus needs to be breathed in.

I have a box of masks, hundreds of them that I bought wholesale years ago to use when working around saw dust. I've been wearing them when I go out.

 

LOL Oliver that video is on the 31st, yes Wuhan was shut down but it was spreading throughout the country by the 31st and they were throwing huge city wide parties because of the Lunar New Year. I gave you video evidence of just one of the cities in Beijing, they had almost 3 million in the streets celebrating 2020.
