If they aren't reporting it with the fervor it deserves, then they aren't journalists they are Obama supporters with access to a newspaper. Its as simple as that. Real journalism became extinct in 2007. The media is supposed to keep guys like Obama flying straight not help him cover up the whereabouts of the aircraft. So we have the majority of the media covering ducks stampeding, a soccer game and virtually nothing on the IRS targeting United States Citizens and the fact that the same entity that never loses your records (ever) down to the penny of what you owe somehow misplaced their own records.
They are traitorous filth in my opinion.

This 'scandal' evidently isn't exciting enough to sell papers. Obviously the right-wing want it publicised as ammunition against the current administration. They'll trust the media then, that's for sure...

Not quite, when a story breaks it's news, and it gets reported.
14 months later, when the story hasn't progressed, and nothing new has been revealed or discovered, it's no longer front page news.
So when Republicans grill the head of the IRS, who says nothing new in his testimony, it gets reported on page 19, because it's not front page news.

Nice try, but it's not only that it gets reported, it's "how" it gets reported. Here's an example the "How"

Well, if that was actual the case, yes, but it isn't. The IRS investigation has revealed many interesting things, but the media's ignored those findings. I could make a list, a long one, but I don't the time.

Again, if that was true, fine, but it isn't. The crashed hard drives, the timing of when that supposedly happened and the fact the IRS didn't inform the hearing committee about it is NEW and given the circumstances rather suspicious and certainly highly questionable, especially coming from the IRS. So burying the news of this on page 19 has nothing to do with whether its new news or not, it has to do with how the NYT decided to report that news.
And frankly, the entire argument that what & how papers print the news they do is so they sell papers is pretty lame considering their circulation has been dropping like a anchor for years.

In other words none. But only intelligent free thinkers like you are aware of the potential problem. Nobody in any of the 10 or so countries that use the same system as the UK are capable of thinking about ways to stop the person paying the bills forcing their agenda on the editorial staff.
