I'll say this, this might be as close to a John Bolton moment as any time in recent history. The neocons have successfully taken over the Democratic/Establishment foreign policy. Every think tank, State Department spokesman, and passionate politician with a Ukraine flag lapel pin is ready to go to war, and who better to lead them than a man who's life mission is to drag the US into war?

This should be interesting, but I think he won't get far. He will be the first of a few, who will challenge Trump for the GOP nomination. Others include Pence, DeSantis, Haley, Hogan, and a couple of others. So, get the popcorn ready to roll after the CFP playoffs and NFL championships because that is when the political electioneering will begin to swing low and high.

Defleming pretty much thinks DeSantis and Trump are one and the same on extremism.

Are you kidding? Every time Trump opens his mouth or posts on the internet there's a 50% chance what he says will be unhinged and a 50% chance it will be untrue.

I'll vote for John Bolton when hell freezes over. I have no use for traitors. He's one step ahead of Hillary Clinton, and that's about as low as you can get.

The warmonger Bolton going after the dove Trump. The way Americans from both parties are salivating over the war in Ukraine I'm guessing Bolton will be the winner.

Trump wants that, cause the more candidates there are, the more likely he wins the primary, Trump could never beat DeSantis one on one, but split the vote among many candidates like in 2016, then he wins the Primary by default

Ok, laughing, with you of course. Democrats would believe that they would easily defeat John Bolton. Should republicans be stupid enough to even consider the notion, it would be the answer to more Brandon glory... Your sophistry is entirely transparent. Perhaps you should work on that.

You are not wrong. Both parties have used the military industrial complex in nefarious ways. The distinct difference is that we have seen a polar shift from the Republicans being the party of war to Democrats.

You don't believe Democrats, even ancient old Joe Biden, would crush John Bolton head to head?

    John Bolton??

He's a self important blowhard with a limited platform and a single goal for running.... so, actually identical to 2016, 2020, and 2024 (except his goal is different)

Which is truly scary, because next year is only 2023.....

NOBODY SHOULD CARE in 2023 who might be POTUS in 2025...

But, whenever it starts, it will be comedy gold watching Pence throw his spineless little back into the race.... It'll be like watching Robin submitting an application and interviewing to be Batman. Or maybe even better, Gilligan trying to become the Skipper.

A lot of Republicans would love to have a war with Venezuela or Mexico or some Caribbean country instead of Libya, Russia, or even China. The difference is which country would fall, victim, and by which party and that is the only difference.

No, Bolton did a complete 180 after getting hired by Trump as US National Security Advisor.

John Bolton just did a complete 180 on his Russia stance after meeting with Putin

Russia's President Vladimir Putin (L) shakes hands with US national security adviser John Bolton during a meeting at the Kremlin in Moscow, Russia on June 27, 2018.
    Thomson Reuters
    • National security adviser John Bolton once said Russia's election interference was a "true act of war" against the US, and that a policy based on trusting Russia was "doomed to failure."

    • Bolton's tune changed completely after he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday.
    • He also said President Donald Trump and Putin will likely discuss Trump's recent calls for Russia to be readmitted to the G7 alliance.

It was early presidential candidate Rick Perry ( withdrew his candidacy way back in 9-2015) from Texas who, I remember first recognised the problem back in 2016. He urged candidates to quit the race and endorse the frontrunner to unite Never Trumpers behind one candidate, rather than dividing them between 4-5 candidates, all claiming to be the best man to stop Trump, while there was still time. Nobody was willing to subjegate their own leverage and ambitions for the benefit of the party/nation.

And frankly that was exactly the tactics Dem candidates, employed to stop the then-perceived flawed candidate, Democratic Socialist Sanders from gaining the nomination over Biden and risking a Democratic House and Senate. You saw a series of 'suspended campaign' announcements from Buttigieg, Bloomberg, Harris and Klobuchar, and Booker rushing to endorse Biden in early March as soon as their viability was lost so that it would be a two man race. Only Warren held out through to April 15th to keep her endorsement leverage to ensure that Biden kept his campaign promise to choose a woman as VP, and press for a more progressive friendly platform.

Suggesting Pub's want war is a tad hyperbolic with the states you mention, but in the case of Mexico, we are in an indirect war with the cartels. Venezuela, people are literally starving due to a dictator which leads to a flood of immigrants to our Southern border. Venezuela went from one of the richest nations on the planet to a nation where 1 in every 3 Venezuelans are starving. This is something every US citizen should be concerned about.

And we caused the turmoil in Lybia. Gaddafi was a horrible man, however he ensured the nation was no longer a terrorist state. It was the US the fueled the Arab Spring and turned the middle East upside down.
