Are you saying there were no war crimes worth reporting?

Transparency, minimalises potential war crimes. Everyone should be accountable. No loose shooters on guess targets.

No reason to hand Assange off to a US court before that is done, is there?

None that I’m aware of. Besides, war crimes are a contradiction in terms.

Assange didn't leak the information, Manning did. So even though there is no proof that anyone was harmed as a result of these leaks, the publisher of the leaks is not responsible for the leaks in any case. Manning is responsible for the leaks. And Manning was punished for it. That should have been the end of the story. Unfortunately, Trump's new co-consuls, Pompeo and Bolton, have a deep hatred for genuine press freedoms. Tyrants like Pompeo and Bolton want the power to silence anyone who exposes the US empire for what it really is.

Yes, it's the law. And perhaps Assange should answer for it. But calling his alleged behavior "rape" is a gross exaggeration. Rape is when someone forces another person to have sex against their will. It is usually very violent and uncomfortable. None of that applies to what Assange allegedly did. And they are just allegations. It's nothing more than he-said-she-said. How can anyone prove that Assange intentionally removed his condom during sex? Maybe it just slipped off. No one will never know. It's silly to try and turn a sexual fumbling into an international incident the way Swedish officials did.

If there’s an arrest warrant, then a judge has determined there is sufficient evidence to issue the warrant.

Lincoln threw thousands of people, journalists included, into prison with no due process, merely for the crime of speaking against his war on the south.

Woodrow Wilson imprisoned people in similar manner, based on nothing but their opposition to his war.

And FDR summarily imprisoned over 100,000 Americans based on pure racism.

A journalist is someone who practices journalism. What Assange did was basic investigative journalism. That is, he developed a source and then published information from that source. That activity is expressly protected by the first amendment. President Pompeo should know better.

    Trump used to love Wikileaks.

Now, he claims to know nothing about them.

Pompeo and Bolton made sure that Trump knew what was the "correct" opinion to have.

I didn't make comments on the full video I put in because it speaks for itself for anyone who wants to see. You however are supporting the military telling their superiors lies so that they can get permission to kill innocent civilians and laughing at their deaths.

While this is the behaviour you may find acceptable, the acceptance of this, and I am imagining your government was fine with it as no one has been charged, suggests that if people follow the example of the US government, then morally any American can be murdered on sight if the person has the power to do so. Best not to travel.

I disagre. The Geneva convention wouldn't exist then.

The US continues to decline in Press Freedom

although the UK did improve its position it has serious problems in obvious situations

    https://www.theguardian.com/media/2...-as-problematic-place-for-journalists-to-work

To be frank the fact that the UK was number 33 with all that going on just illustrates how non free the rest are. The US was ranked 48.

And is violated by everyone always, and only the winners prosecute. A waste of time and trees.

War is war; and war is hell; trying to make it “children playing nice on a play ground” is emotional blackmail and intellectual fraud; and a prescription for defeat for those that practice it’s principles of a “Just War”.

Yes, I get where you come from - the darkest part of history and I also get why you believe it - because you will be on the side doing the killing. Your view would be quite different if the people with the Might were not American but some other people and they were killing your mother and father, husband or wife and children. Of course your government wants Assange because he embarrassed them by showing that the US does not do what it says. It is not moral. Far from it, it plays at killing civilians while laughing. This was pathological behaviour. These people should be in jail. Instead the US wants to put in jail the man who reported it and by reporting it gave the democracy of the United States the opportunity to decide whether they wanted their soldiers to act this way. You clearly do. Do you think your view is an average one of the people of the United States? As I said it would be wise to stay at home.

As Starjet wrote .. In war, there are no innocent civilians.
For example - The Palesh-tinians who fire missles from Gaza while hiding behind schools and hospitals.

There were in this without question. When you need to lie to get permission to kill you can bet it is wrong. I am aware of the Christian Zionist and Israeli extreme right belief that all Palestinians should be killed. Do you have any information as to whether the killers were Christian Zionists?

If an American soldier raped or murders to satisfy his own personal demons, then it is proper to arrest, try, and convict; but if an American infantry squad, as part of military strategy razes a village to the ground, resulting in the deaths of many civilians, that’s war, not a crime.

Well, at the very least, brought to their knees, crying, “Enough. You win.”

For God's sake they were ordinary people going about their day. They included a journalist and photographer from Reuters. Is this why your posts are so crazy. Do you never bother finding what you are posting about.
