Jussie Smollett testifies to having correspondence with CNN's Don Lemon during CPD investigation

Jussie Smollett said he had correspondence with CNN's Don Lemon during the early parts of the investigation into the alleged hate crime attack.

In his court testimony on Monday, Smollett said under oath that during the investigation, he received a text from the network’s Don Lemon — supposedly relaying information that the Chicago Police Department didn’t believe his account of what happened, Fox News’ Matt Finn reported from the Windy City courthouse where prosecutors and Smollett’s defense team are at odds.

So a reporter confronted someone in the news that the cops didn’t buy his story? Unless Jucie confessed and lemon didn’t report it, it sounds like good journalism to me.

Sounds to me like Lemon was texting Smollett and telling him to come up with a new story because the one he told wasn’t believed.

So why would Lemon tell Smollett his story wasn’t believed? Remember, we’re not dealing with two intelligent people here.

If I was the top dog at CNN these integrity lapses and universally recognized lack of credibility would give me every reason to tear it down, dump everyone and start over with a new name.

 

Again, to see if he could get breaking news, or maybe he was just upset he was covering BS. But changing your story would be the worst advice imaginable

 

Don’t know, never watched him.

 

For that he’d have had to known the story was bogus. No evidence of that yet. But if he was still reporting it as true and he knew it wasn’t, then he’d lose any credibility.

 

Maybe not change the story entirely, but suddenly remember details that were previously forgotten. Or maybe it was lemon’s way of telling him to stop doing insane interviews that will bite him later on.

 

This whole fiasco started off as a major race hoax that had every liberal politician, news network and celeb crying and whining about racism. Now that the racism is fake and the racist is a black guy, where are all the politicians, news outlets and celebs crying and whining about racism?

 

Chicago PD was actively investigating the case.

Lemon wasn't there he didn't know what happened.

What he knew was it wasn't a convincing story so he at the very least gave him a warning, during an active investigation.

 

It's like the Bubba Wallace thing, they just stop talking about it.

Except what Jussie appears to have done is a crime.

They don't give tips to the criminals while claiming to be journalists either.

CNN needs to see how Lemon colluded with Smollett and decide if they want their brand associated with this.
