Moonshine is clear, moonshine is illegal to bottle and sell, so if it's clear it can not be sold legally. I am not sure why this is, but it is the law

I have no understanding of your problem with Tim Smith selling his legal product as Moonshine. What does it say on the bottle?

 

i enjoy the way our humidity is vastly different than the humidity on the East Coast. I am a fan of the entire country. I have missed a few of the great lakes area states.

 

I don't have a problem with Tim, but this is NOT moonshine, the website that I posted actually says what the original formula was, which clearly implies that this formula is no longer used as ALL FEDERAL STANDARDS FORBID THIS. Just logic, as methanol can not be sold for consumption in the USA, unless you are buying from a moron who hides in the woods to avoid criminal prosecution, who has one tooth and very few healthy brain cells due to grain alcohol consumption

Got that, moonshine is illegal liquor, typically mixed with METHANOL which is part of the reason that it is illegal. At any rate any liquor that is legally produced for sale, that meets all federal and state regulations, can never be moonshine.

Argue all you want, the word moonshine is basically a synonym to illegal, so if it's legal it's not moonshine.

Moonshine also never ever has a set proof.

Again. The legality of distilling and bottling moonshine or other untaxed spirits depends entirely on the state. Take MO for example. There are no restrictions on distilling your own spirits for personal consumption. In Iowa you can own any sized still you desire but can not have more than five hundred and one gallons of untaxed spirits on your property and can not transport it off your property. To do it legally by federal law you only need to acquire a federal ethanol based fuel permit.
