A site called Hey Jackass which tallies up Chicago crime notes the shooting total so far for this year 69 have been killed and 295 wounded.

Of the homicide victims, 77.9 percent were black and for all you Black Lives Matters folks keeping tabs, police were involved in only ONE percent of the shootings.

THERE IS A TERRIBLE TRAGEDY ONGOING ON THE STREETS OF CHICAGO AFFECTING THOUSANDS OF BLACK LIVES, AND NO ONE ON THE LEFT SEEMS TO CARE.

Surely there's a solution for this American nightmare. Like any difficult transition, the first step is admitting there's a problem. Which seems to be a problem.

Guns are already, for the most part, banned in Chicago. And it’s predominantly blacks and Hispanics doing all the killing.
There’s no left wing agenda to be pushed here.

Now, if we where to experience gun violence of even 1/4 this magnitude in a less liberal more 2nd amendment friendly state like, let’s say, Florida, I bet the media would be all over it, kids would probably be screaming and walking out of their classes and 17 year olds would be dictating to us how we should be changing our constitution while nibbling on tide pods.
And the media would be lapping it up like sweet tea on a hot summers day.

NOLA -- 39 so far.
St Louis -- around 50.

You are correct that the implementation of stop and frisk was racist. This however is not the reason your argument is really bad.

Banning cars would be very "effective" in reducing automobile deaths.

I know, I just felt like I needed to hammer home the fact that every single tragedy is nothing but fuel for profit. I don't want anybody walking away from this thinking "wow someone solved that issue i sure have no reason to care about it anymore"

 

The usual democrat answer. Throw taxpayers money at the problem. They have done that for years to buy votes, and it has done NOTHING to fix the problem.

Your taxpayer dollars aren't going into the inner cities, they're going into the military-industrial complex to fund R&D, as well as Social Security and Medicare. And the democrats are the party of superpredator hysteria and austerity disguised as opportunity, so they've been more than useless to the predominately black inner cities.

You actually need to spend intelligently instead of cranking money into vaguely-purposed consulting firms that promise they'll come up with a solution. You know, like spending it on public housing, infrastructure, maintenance and repair, and other things that turn a neighborhood from a dead-end ghetto into a place where people can actually survive without constant struggle or a life of crime.
