The way they have treated those they arrested is un-American. It's what Banana Republics do. They certainly didn't get the BLM / ANTIFA treatment. Besides the cops murdering one of them for no legitimate reason, they have left people in solitary confinement to the point of cruel and unusual punishment.
The reality is some people that voted for Trump are paranoid. We know this because they are absolutely convinced that some demons worked tirelessly on millions and millions of ballots so Biden could win. They shrug off Trump's abysmal pandemic response and unyielding vanity, self-entitlement and self-righteousness. Trump got himself fired. Quite frankly, I think this "event" (however it came to be) is in very poor taste. That riot led to the death of 5 Capitol police officers with hundreds more injured. Our Vice-President was threatened and he, and his family, ended up sleeping in hotels and with relatives to escape the death threats because people that don't know the law or the rules took Trump at this word that Pence had the power to not accept the state counts. Where is the justice for those five LEOs and Pence (thankfully he was ushered to safety along with other cabinet members but it never should have reached that point). I hope the crawl back under the woodwork where they belong.
The left is extremely paranoid about attacks on the capital. They made several claims of rallies and such at state capitals that no one showed up at, as well. It's more wishful thinking than anything.
That day was a vivid example of how uncivilized the Trump supporters can be. Threatening to lynch pence...... and other craziness......is beyond appalling and it made the country look like a banana republic. Freedom to protest peacefully does not mean freedom to riot and destroy. They complain about other groups ......... and yet fail to set a good example.
That's a fair criticism of those few people. It is important to also acknowledge that letting other groups continue to riot and break laws also contributed to these people abandoning faith in law and order.
Like Trump, they like to point their finger at everybody else but never take responsibility for their own actions. I am certain they would be calling for the death penalty had that riot involved anybody besides Orange Jesus cult members. It's pathetic. Who would have thought fellow Americans would choose a total loser as their Messiah and sit back and rationalize him stomping our Constitution. You couldn't have paid me to believe that was possible two years ago. I'm ashamed and I don't say that lightly. I'm truly ashamed of all of them. They are no longer Americans to me. Like him, they are traitors to our country and Constitution.

Things have deteriorated a lot....... with disinformation, ministration. outright lies.......and bending rules to breaking point. America is different.ow America feels different now. It sort of feels as if a cancer has developed and is growing out of control. I just hope some degree of civility exists during this coming rally. Mabe not many will show up........ The FBI has found NO evidence there were any plans to harm anyone. And if you want to complain about setting an example then start three years ago with the leftist anarchy and insurrection by BLM, Antifa and the occupy groups that in fact turned parts of cities into banana republics for months at a time. Maybe they should have set THAT example rather than the means to get your way is through violence and anarchy.
The symbolism of a threat was there.......and a decidedly unpleasant one. Pence and family had to be taken to a safe place. Aren't there better ways of making a statement??
Does it not seem a bit self-righteous for people to hold a rally for "justice" for people that have committed crimes? Go take a look at the thread about Rittenhouse. I guarantee you if he had been black and his targets were all white, people would be calling for the death penalty. He's got all kinds of white supremacists and white sympathizers helping him financially. I wouldn't be surprised to learn he doesn't have a job lined up at quite a few places once his case is done. And, the very people that justify that claim they aren't bigoted. <smdh> The fact of the matter is this. Trump is the malignant tumor and his supporters are feeding it constantly. They all rely on one another to keep the toxicity going. There is no possible way that may parents, grandparents and further back would have elected or tried to re-elect an anti-American loser and failure. They had pride in their country and their leaders. People, even across party lines, looked out for one another and cared about the collective whole of what they all stood for and what this country was about. Anybody that has fallen into the quicksand of partisan hatred, denial, whataboutism and all the worthless garbage they want to fight about made the choice to go down that road. They had other options. They are all adults. They made the choice to look beyond the fact that we are all Americans and, like it or not, we sink or swim together so it's pointless if not extra stupid to allow oneself to be sidetracked by nonsense. There's no excuse for it and I won't make apologies for them. I am absolutely disgusted by it and it pains me deeply because every generation that my family has been here we have stood with our country and our Constitution. Most of the males in our family and some of the females served in the military. They stood up for our country because, at that time, we were the best. We were UNITED. In a sense, I'm glad they are all gone now because I know it would break their hearts to see what has happened. It did NOT have to be like this. It's even painful to talk about. This wasn't supposed to happen. And, if you want a short answer on the motives of the rally...take a look at who they worship. The ONLY thing Trump cares about is himself and he is such a unrelenting bully that people just grovel at his feet so he doesn't target them. Therefore, the people that support him and were willing to hurt our Vice-President for follow that model. This isn't about justice. It's about revenge and they are so short-sighted, they completely ignore the cold hard facts that Vice-President Pence didn't betray his oath to our country - Trump did and the sad reality is they'd rather go on pretending than make the effort to make amends to a man that did nothing but EXACTLY what he promised to do when taking an oath to our country. I still can't write about this without tearing up. It did not have to be this way. It shouldn't be this way. This is completely wrong on every level. I'm glad my ancestors aren't alive to see what a mess this has become.
