Revenue always goes up as more people enter the workforce, just substantially less due to tax cuts.
The increase in military spending didn't help the spending side.
We could of course just pay for Medicare and social security, but then we would still be left with the military and debt payments.

There is more people in the job market because of the tax cuts. Just like when JFK cut taxes, and Reagan. I am not suggesting doing away wtih Medicare/Medicaid or SS...but they need reform...those entitlements are the largest drivers of Debt...even Obama realized that, but did nothing about it "Medicare and Medicaid are the single biggest drivers of the federal deficit and the federal debt by a huge margin."

No it's not do you support the new tax rate cuts for the middle class that Trump is supporting. And I am not supporting giving money away how did you read that into it?

CONSUMER PRICE INDEX – SEPTEMBER 2018

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.1 percent in
September on a seasonally adjusted basis after rising 0.2 percent in August, the
U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Over the last 12 months, the all
items index rose 2.3 percent before seasonal adjustment.

The shelter index continued to rise and accounted for over half of the seasonally
adjusted monthly increase in the all items index. The energy index declined 0.5
percent in September after rising in August. The food index was unchanged in
September, as an increase in the index for food away from home offset a decline
in the food at home index.

Let's hope the low unemployment is putting upward pressure on wages now.

"The 1.1 percent change in September 2018 was the first time since July 2016 that the 12-month change in real average weekly earnings has been above 1.0 percent."

I have hated both the deficit and the national debt for decades. I was thrilled when the GOP congress forced a balanced budget on President Clinton via the Contract with America. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll see that again anytime soon. At this point, until the federal government decides to forgo spending on anything not delineated in the Constitution (and no, the phrase "general welfare" does not encompass everything!), I am all for starving the beast. I have done my part, and voted for my congressional representative who shares my philosophy. Time for Uncle Sam to tighten his belt.

Didn't you get more money in your pay check?
That's where they tried to put it.

Trump should have thought of that instead of giving it all away to the wealthy. I think that it is a good idea and does not reek from desperation.
Trump "redistributed" our tax money to the super-rich and gave diddly to those who need it--the working middle class. I am certain that there would be much left over to reduce the soaring deficit. The "money working Americans get to keep thanks to Trump" is a pittance and only a dummkopf would think
that it is a saving grace.

Tax cuts have always triggered Socialists, because it gives the people more power, and the government less.

Progs that want to can always donate their tax cuts back to the government. Well... Those that work...
