No drugs should be illegal, period We used to do that throughout the entire 19th c and I didn't notice the nation failing . We spend billions telling people they aren't allowed to help themselves get better when they're sick

    Obama sanctioned Russia.
Regardless, Trump is destroying our standing in the world and "knows more than the generals". He should let our experienced
diplomats do their job. He sidles up to dictators like Putin. Putin has him by the short and curlies because Trump does a lot of business in Russia and doesn't want the rug pulled out from him. Obama was a peacenik, no question. Reagan had the advice from experts in his cabinet since he knew what he didn't know and brought in people who told him what he needed to know instead of what he wanted to know, unlike Trump.

Good, Barr should open sweeping investigation on everyone who junked their cars and bought tacos and mariscos at one of those cartel owned businesses. That ought to keep his fat ass busy. I’m going to retain council immediately as I know I am subject to be swept up in this probe any day. I’m calling the Law Firm of Martinez, Lopez and Goldstein right now, Thanks for the heads up.[/QUOTE]

Kamila Harris has short roots in America,

    First generation American.

There should be a constitutional amendment that you have to be a second generation or more likely a third generation American to run for President.

Look at California's state legislature full of anchor babies who hold their loyalty to Mexico and are only concerned is protecting illegal aliens.

I drank a few Coors during that time but had I known that it was supporting the murderous Contras, I would not have. All of the crackheads in LA were also supporting those contras. I knew that and never took up crack smoking.

We should get some of those strict constitutionalist judges from the Federalist society to make some rulings and get those chili chokin, pepper belly beaners out of our state legislatures right now! You have really sound political instincts sir.

I hope they had an easier time in 1910 than they would have today.

Well, no matter who started this anti freedom nanny state war on drugs, it should be opposed by all freedom loving Americans and abolished. At the turn of the century Sears Roebuck were selling ampules of heroin with a couple clean needles in a nice little leather case for $1.98. You could go into a drug store and buy ladnum a mixture of Morphine, alcohol and cocaine for about $5 a quart. You could get a coke for a nickel that was laced with cocaine. You could grow, smoke and sell all the marijuana you wanted. This whole drug war bullcrap has served to destroy the bill of rights to the point where you can be pulled over for speeding and if the policeman thinks he smells weed, he can dig through your whole car and even if he finds no illegal drugs he can steal your money and then make you prove where you got the money. I hope that at least one of the candidates running next year will make a point of it to run on a platform that includes de escalating this idiotic anti American drug war and decriminalizing drug use, possession and restoring the Bill of Rights.

Great post. People should be reminded of this often. I recall that the pioneers in covered wagons gave their kids ladnum. I read that you could buy a Thompson sub machine gun mail order.

Not at all. My father's side is very hushed up, but I know quite a bit about my mothers side. They came to the US dirt poor. Worked the stock yards and with Irish mafia until at least the early 50s. Then middle class until today.

I, for one, think we need a massive re-write of our entire immigration process. We should start with merit based immigration and maybe take a few others.

Well during the counter cultural movement during the 60's and 70's the main reason why so many were smoking the weed was because it was illegal and it was a way to stick it to the man. You were getting away with something and that felt good.

By the 1980's those same people went out and got full time jobs and were paying taxes and found better things to spend their disposable income on.

How many in their 60's and 70's today are smoking pot in the states where recreational marijuana is legal today ? They know better.

It was progressives in Congress who passed prohibition and America's first drug laws.

Progressives during America's progressive era believed you could fix the ills of society with science and laws.
That's what true progressives believe and back during America's progressive era many progressives were nationalist socialist who despised internationalist socialist and anarchist and today they would be labeled racist.

It was progressives who wrote America's strict immigration laws from 1900 to 1964.
And those immigration laws worked !

Todays progressives are not true progressives but socialist the bad kind of socialist (internationalist), anarchist, Marxist and even a few Maoist who hide behind the progressive label.

Some say America's first drug laws were racist.

Mexicans in the South West were smoking mary jane and taking to many siestas and getting into to many knife fights.
Solution was the Marijuana Tax Law.

In the South blacks harvesting sugarcane where using cocaine to be more productive harvesting sugarcane but then started asking "Where are the white women."
Solution, cocaine became a regulated drug.
Coca Cola would never be the "real thing."

During WW l many doughboys came home from France who were wounded in combat and were addicted to morphine.
Not a pretty sight seeing someone with the heroine monkey on their backs.
Solution, morphine and opiates became a regulated drug.

    1. The Middle East has been a disaster since before WWI--thru every administration--& Trump has achieved absolutely NOTHING there.
    2. N Korea & S Korea have had intense discussions several times over the past few decades--even had family visits take place across the DMZ. So far, Trump has achieved nothing new with N Korea, but has found ways to insult S Korea with his continual gibberish. Trump is the disaster.
    3. This whole idea about Trump being hard on Russia is all fake news, or more properly called "propaganda" from the White House. What exactly did Obama "give" Putin that concerns you?
    4. Trump idolizes Putin for his success as an authoritarian.
