I'm all for giving a persons voting rights back to them once they've served their time as your freedoms (including you ability to own a firearm) should be restored. However, the point of prison is your freedoms and rights are taken away as you violated other peoples rights. That should also include voting.

I remember reading that.

Bernie's life as a young adult is some what comical.

When Bernie was broke which was most of the time and was hungry and needed a shower he would protest something by sitting in the streets wanting to get arrested so he could get three meals and a shower in the county jail.

 

I'm not surprised the left believes they appeal to criminals.

 

Many states already allow felons to vote. What impact would it have? To suggest that all felons vote or would vote Democrat is patently absurd, of course.

Being the party of racist conspiracy theorists will not get you far. It only worked in 2016 thanks to all that Russian assistance in trashing Hillary. Enough people were discouraged from voting for her, or voting at all, for Trump to eke out an electoral college win.

 

Bahh.... Kamala is simply punting that issue to another day. Bernie seems to be the one who's adamant about letting currently incarcerated persons have the vote, which i fully disagree with. However, like the great majority of your other rights, once you are released, your voting rights need to AUTOMATICALLY be restored, without any hoops to jump through...

Of course, that concept needs to be paired with the ridiculous incarceration rates for minor issues in this country to begin with. I THINK that's the conversation Kamala really wants to have....

 

The impact would potentially be millions of votes, and 70% (if not more) would vote democrat.

So its all a sham to get votes-and even Kamala Akbar is dialing it back.

I get so sick and tired of Democrats and Liberals when asked direct questions about their positions and they know they are stuck reverting to the "well we need to have a conversation about ......" dodge. I don't vote for people to talk about things I vote for them to DO THINGS and they should know the issues before they ask me to vote for them.

To be clear, the topic is not referring to a convicted felon who has served their sentence-but rather for violent felons, up to and including terrorists-being able to vote WHILE incarcerated.
