    It's unclear whether he's consulted with his friend Donald Trump, but rapper Kanye West has announced he's ready to unseat the Republican president.

    "We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future," West wrote on Twitter Saturday evening. "I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION"

    Kanye may very well be announcing this for attention but he's already got the support of people like Elon Musk.

    West and his wife Kim Kardashian worked closely with Donald Trump over the past few years to get prison reform passed into law, which has led to the release of many incarcerated blacks.

    An interesting aspect here-is that if West does run, while he is unlikely to win he may siphon votes from the Bernie Sanders crowd, as well as younger voters generally. These votes would be more likely to come from the Biden camp over Trump's.

    Many of these demo's have been frustrated with Joe Biden, who once lamented that he did not want his kids to grow up in a "racial jungle", and has a long history of racist remarks.

    I think this will be an interesting twist. It might pull black votes from Biden. He might even pull some white votes from Biden. I know some libs that have a mountain of white guilt they are trying to unload.
