Since when is this a crime for the FBI? Show me either the legislation or the enabling federal statute that supports your assertion of using the FBI for this purpose.

If the FBI has to investigate every claim, Democrats can easily eliminate every Republican candidate from office by literally spamming accusations. Both sides can do it. (Unless we call it mail fraud ..) but that doesn't mean that this cannot be dealt with locally. The cases could be brought in California, or Maryland. Still doesn't mean that the FBI has jurisdiction.
