This is the cause of our current drug problem.

I'm not into cats for house pets, but there's a coyote genocide of cats going on here. A cat has taken refuge on the porch. Normally I would run it off, but I'll let it stay until the ethnic cleansing passes. Our schnauzer doesn't have a problem with it, and we're more careful with her also.

If it keeps up I'll have to get a new squawk box for coyotes and start killing them again.

We must rise against the Purrlluminanti. WAKE UP SHEEPLE! They're putting chemicals in the water to turn us gay!

Except women, the Purrlliminanti are not fond of lesbians. Something about what they eat.

Fact is most if not all cats kill birds and lots of them. As stated in the OP they are an invasive species and kill an extraordinary amount of birds. Interesting how so many in the left cry over very occasional oil spills that kill birds while their family pet kills them on a regular basis. As for feral cats in rural areas shooting them like any other invasive species is an option. The same is done with pythons in Florida and wild hogs most everywhere.

I believe it's cruel to let cats run loose and do not approve of it.

However, I have had many cats and many birds.

That's because I feed the cats well and provide habitat for birds....lots of it.

    Want to stop bird deaths?

Then stop population growth, habitat loss, churning up land and trees for malls, stadiums, and corporate farms, and cloned homes for the growing population.

But , hey, let's blame cats because obviously they are so much smarter and more powerful and more numerous than we are and they NEED all those malls and parking lots.....

.….and ya know they could stop having more cats if they just stopped having sex! :)

Even well fed cats hunt, it's in their nature and you can spay or neuter to keep population down

Yup, cats kill out of instinct, birds, mice, rabbits, even squirrels so I give them praise! They can't help it.

Humans kill birds out of greed and thoughtlessness. And WE are the ones who allegedly can think ?

I provided birds with acres of habitat, shelter, water, and extra food in the winter.

If one of my cats caught one it hardly depleted the population.

I could've Gone Greedy like so many humans and developed the land and destroyed all the bird habitat but I didn't.

Good bird habitat is great but unfortunately that's also good cat habitat for them to hunt those birds.

If birds are plentiful something hardwired to take bird prey is going to kill them.

Until they are no longer plentiful and that's the problem here. Song birds are vanishing from towns and neighborhoods with large free roaming cat populations
