    The good news is...

No GoFundMe for Kim Davis: Crowdfunding puts the brakes on the disturbing bigots-get-rich-quick trend
    http://www.salon.com/2015/09/04/no_...n_the_disturbing_bigots_get_rich_quick_trend/

...but I'm certain that she will still get her coffers filled by bigots and hate groups posing as religious organizations.

What else is religion about if not the "collection plate "

I guess that law against making a profit from breaking the law has gone out the conservative window.

What else is religion about if not the "collection plate " - authoritarian political power.

Bravo, GoFundMe. Their logic was sound - they would not allow funds to go towards an illegal activity.

Some said I was crazy. Others said I was just flat out wrong. But it turns out, I was spot on. Here's what I said in a post 6 months ago:

And so now it has begun. Christians are to go to jail for their "bigoted beliefs". Goodbye First Amendment. And the the liberals are in your face joyful.

Pretty much. It's not as if her actions were noble or anything but self serving nonsense.

Cry more. Just becuase you believe you don't have to follow the law and do your job does not mean you get to. No one is stopping Christians from their faith. But you can't refuse to do the job taxpayers are paying you to do.

She is an idiot and she broke the law, I have no problem with her being in jail.

However, I have a serious problem with Gofundme.com creating a rule and shutting he down on a whim. I will never use that company, I will always trash that company to anyone I speak with and as for the 9M of business I do myself, my employees and clients will hear nothing but bad things about this company.

I will always tell people to avoid gofundme and instead do kickstarter.com

Just because you don't like what other people support doesnt mean you can change the rules and shut someone down. Psh, and using the fact that a judge called her a criminal to pass it, wow what a freaking joke.

What if someone started a "gofundme" page for Hurricane Carter back when he was in jail? Would you shut that down too?

Man, this really makes me angry. What a terrible company

This is a lie, she did not go to jail for he christian beliefs, she went to jail because she failed to uphold law that WE THE PEOPLE have chosen upon.

If you dont like gays, deal with it. As I have heard many on the far right say, go move to some other country if you dont like it.

She's not in jail for being Christian. She's in jail for refusing to do her job and then refusing to follow the court order telling her to do her job. Her religion here doesn't even matter. She could be a Pastafarian for all it actually matters because the heart of the issue is the refusal to do her job, not the religion she's offering up as her excuse.

And it's already been explained to you why this is the opposite of a 1st amendment violation. Making this woman do her job regardless of her religious beliefs is protecting the 1st amendment rights of everyone else in her county from having to live according to her own personal de facto established religion made possible by her authority and powers as County Clerk.

I find it highly nonsensical and actually quite a bit dangerous to assume that professing a belief in one of the hundreds of religions means that the law doesn't apply to you if you merely just feign offense.

May I ask if you think Hillary should be held to the same degree of "by the book" punishment for her failure to abide a law set by the public?

Of course. If Hillary broke laws then she's not beyond reproach any more than the next person.

If this were 2013 and Kim Davis were issuing licenses to homosexuals in spite of the law, the same people pillorying her today would be cheering for her lawbreaking. Hypocrisy knows no sides when it comes to politics.

And so your solution is to just throw them into jail. You're not stopping Christians from their faith, you're just taking away their freedom.

What you just posted is a lie. This is not a law. It was not passed by any legislature and signed by any executive. In fact, in my home state, using the initiative process, the opposite law was enacted twice by a vote of the people. Californians voted twice to reject the idea the marriage was redefined to include homosexuals by law.

She is going to jail because Justice Kennedy sided with four radical out of control Supreme Court Justices that shouldn't be on the bench.

She is being punished for her beliefs. She was doing her job just fine 6 months ago, and nobody complained.

No court has the right to strip a citizen of their First Amendment rights to freedom of religion.

The religion of Liberalism is being forced onto the public by an out of control government.

This is not done for social justice reasons, this is done to force people to believe in the democrat's religious ideology.

Lol you sound hysterical. I am imagining one of those Japanese cartoons with huge crying eyes as we speak.

Anyways, so your point at calling me a liar is because our highest judges created a law that you don't like.

    Got it

She's being punished for not doing the job that she swore an oath to do. Her office has duties that can't be performed anywhere else.

So this bull(*)(*)(*)(*) about being punished for her beliefs is just misdirection from the right-wing fundies.

They do have the right to make sure she is performing her duties in conformance with the law.

She doesn't have the right to force her own version of Sharia law on everyone else.

Out of control is a regressive hatemonger who refuses to do her duties after being duly elected and swearing an oath to do so.

It's being done because this fundie is no different than the Taliban of Al-Qaeda because she wants to ignore laws that she doesn't agree with and substitute her own Sharia law.

Yes, I agree with this. Trust me, I hate partisans on both sides of the isle.

But based on that theory I would hope even though you appear a conservative, you will praise our system for working as intended.

    Am I correct?

P.S. - For as bat (*)(*)(*)(*) crazy as Beck is, his whole theory on the middle east has pretty much happened exactly as he said it back in like 09. Kinda weird...

I don't like gays and I deal with is by shunning them. You deal with it.

And when she swore her oath of office, was gay marriage part of her duties? Was it "the law" at that time? Answer: NO.

Well she isn't being sent to jail for stealing a ham sandwich.

Actually, no. If that were true, the courts would be forcing Obama to enforce immigration laws. You might say, she has prosecutorial discretion.

Sharia is muslim law. She's a Christian.

It's not her duty to violate her religious beliefs.

    Now you're just talking hysterically.

Federal laws > state laws > local laws >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> bible laws

Believing a law is wrong is one thing, not following the law is another.

You're a supreme court justice? Hardly, lol.

Apparently it flew right over your head that several states, including California some 3 or 4 times, voted AGAINST gay marriage.

    Now you know. You're welcome.
