Very good. The British Empire was even worse than how white European settlers treated Native North American aboriginals.

I’m not clear what they think isn’t already in the school curriculum on the topic. Surely they need to identify the problem before proposing a fix.

Is it? It certainly was not when I went to school. Can you please let us know what you learnt about it at school - it is also worth remembering that this was brought together with dealing with racism etc.

I think that Jeremy has realised that the Labour party will get slaughtered come 12 December and has decided to retreat into his comfort zone of safe failure and elderly Marxism. Sad really. I would like someone to keep a rein on Boris but it clearly won't be Wurzel.

Is what? I was just asking the question about what they're saying isn't in the curriculum that should be and anything that is currently in it that shouldn't. I'm suggesting they don't know because it's not a real policy, just an election soundbite (something all the parties are guilty of).

    what you said which was
and as the thread is on the British Empire it would not make sense if you were talking about anything else. I understood you to be saying it was already well taught in schools. I see no other interpretation

    No you said
The topic is Labour plans to teach British Empire Injustice.

So you are saying you were just having a go. What you wrote meant nothing.

Sure, but that is an extremely vague, wide and diverse topic area. Surely such a policy would be based on the principle that there is some specific things that aren't in the current curriculum but should be. I don't believe they've done the detailed work to identify any shortcomings and even if they form a government, the policy wont lead to any significant changes to what children actually learn in the classroom. I'd be happy to see details of the policy that would prove me wrong but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Well, I was having a go at yet more empty political campaigning given that we've already suffered a couple of weeks worth and have a couple more to endure. Cheering this crap as if it actually means anything is ridiculous at best.

I suppose the real question is how much guilt do we have left and will it translate into votes ? Personally I doubt it. There may be a few Corbynistas eager to have some stout black chap give them a good thrashing because of the crimes of empire, but I don't think there will be enough to usher Wurzel into Number 10.

    No guilt

Just determination NEVER to treat people that way again will be enough

You didn’t watch it did you
Now fair warning “abo” is as offensive as the N word and will get you reported - as will a similar racist slur

    • Flamebaiting (Rule 2/3)
I have. I will watch anything with Kenneth Branagh in it.I had hoped that it was going to be Much Ado About Nothing which indeed it was, although they appear to have changed the title and left Emma Thompson out.
