Tammy Duckworth is a formidable force to be reckoned with; imho... I wish that we on the (R) side of the aisle had someone with her experience & comportment (albeit with a Constitutionally textualist / 'Conservative' ideology)... None the less, Duckworth is (on a strictly personal level) a commendable individual in my book!

(For purposes of defeat, I hope that Biden chooses the ludicrously, self aggrandizing buffoon - (self proclaimed Governor of GA) Stacy Abrams....)

I think Kamala Harris is still the favorite, but I read an article over the weekend about how Joe Biden truly wants a VP who will act as he did during Obama's Presidency. A close confidant and friend who will put aside personal political interests in the favor of supporting the President and thus, the one on one interview between Biden and these ladies will probably play a very outsized role (and also why Susan Rice, with whom Biden worked closely during the Obama Presidency, has become the 2nd most favored candidate).

There is absolutely nothing to gain by picking Harris as VP.

These picks are usually made to secure the state the person is from and she represents CA which is already solidly democrat.

On top of that, she has way too much baggage, as in harmful rhetoric, which will be used against her.

 

Bought 'Trump to win' (Yes) back in late June of 2015 @Predictit.org... Rolled it over again for 2020 at $.33 (Yes), saw it go up a bit & obviously back down to $.40 ish after the Chinese virus; I could sell now & still come out ahead but - hell no, ~ don't count Trump out just yet, lol...

Not that I would ever personally concede to taking a Covid "vaccine" created, in part, by the 'Gates Foundation', none the less ~ if this vaccine is introduced in Oct. w/ some semblance of efficacy - it could be an unusual twist to the proverbial 'Oct. Surprise' / a boon for Trump... imho, O'course!

 

Kamala will have some explaining away to do in her role as DA of CA; taking a hard line on incarceration for x 1900 CA pot smokers etc. etc. In this climate of culture warriors & virtue signaling - prosecuting anything (albeit illegal) is sort of an anathema to "their" ideological base; ~ how to explain away her record of adhering to the rule of law in prosecution - erasing that away is anyone's guess, even w/ the obvious double / triple standard they hold themselves to...

She's from California so doesn't pull in a battleground state.

 

I think Kamala Harris would be one of the worst choices possible. The Trump ads will constantly loop that footage of her smackdown of Biden at the debates on busing with Biden stunned look with the tagline "I was that little girl". Also Biden has Obama's full support so the black vote will not be an issue. Kamala seems to have very mixed support among black voters, many seemed to strongly dislike her during the primaries. She also comes from California which will be of no help for the EC.

If Biden wants to shore up the base he is better off picking Warren. His support is very soft among progressives and someone like Warren is more likely to energize them and turn them out to vote than Harris. She could also probably easily out debate Pence. The problem with Warren is she will push away many moderates and wall street types. The question is would she drive away more than she turns out in the swing states.

Duckworth has a powerful personal story and shows a level of strength that might make her a strong candidate but I really have very little knowledge of her political policies and positions.

I am surprise that Tulsi Gabbard doesn't get any consideration. She is a veteran and a moderate so her politics is probably closer to Biden than many of the others. I guess she brings nothing EC wise but she could probably bring in a lot of moderate republicans and independents.

I think Biden painted himself into a corner by limiting himself to a woman. Someone like Yang might have a lot of appeal right now. I don't like his UBI plan but I think a lot of Americans are open to that idea now. He speaks well, ran a successful business and would be the highest position for an Asian-American in politics.

Bass was seen as an "acceptable" alternative to Harris (since Kamala seems to have developed strong opposition inside Biden's Inner Circle).

However, outside of Harris, Biden's options (if he does want a Black Woman) seem to be dwindling.

Rice is out of the question b/c her "baggage" gives the Twitter Troll Squad too much low-hanging fruit.

At this point, it seems the only person that could derail Harris would be someone like Duckworth.

 

As I said Bass is unknown and has baggage and only brings California. Demmings would give him more moderates but could cost him the racial leftist. Harris was a horrible candidate who went nowhere fast and that debate clip will be a campaign ad. He needs to pick a solid governor who hasn't been in the press a whole lot but is known to have a solid record.
