Russian MoD always denied any "demarkation line" exists on Syrian soil between the US and Russia.

OK thank you for the hysterics. It's
not that big of a deal.. Yet.

I saw this this morning. Basically it is was just Pro Assad forces trying to assert control over some of their own land and failing. I call it testing the waters. 500ish Syrian Army or folks supporting him ( remember there's alot different people running around) shot some artillery within just 500 yards of US troops Imbeded with the Kurds.... I think one person injured? Then we reacted with overkill ( the best way) and blew them to hell killing over a hundred of them.

The real story to me here is Turkey. They are really pissed at our support of the Kurds and Erdogan has flatout stated he will not rest until that land in Northern Syria is returned to its rightful owners. Mhm.

You're right! It would be great the next time we have a race riot, if Russia was to take a stand and start bombing our police.

Me too. I admire them so much and they are a strikingly beautiful people too. I may be moving to Nashville soon for work and I was shocked to find out they have like the largest Kurdish community in the United States. Refugees etc. Nashville. It makes me laugh.. I mean Nashville? To those not American.. Nashville is the country music capital of the world and the entire state is ultra conservative. Redneck central. My people :)

It broke my heart to hear about those FSA terrorists mutilating that female Kurdish woman's body after she went down fighting

And you know who Erdogan thinks is its rightful owners: Turkey. It doesn't matter that the people living there are Arabs and they hate Turkey's guts, since everything now a days is propaganda and lies a la Saul Alinsky style. All Erdogan would have to do is convince the world how much the Arabs love Turkey - while he's ethnically cleansing them of course, and bringing in Turkomans.

Yep and if we leave I guarantee you he will do just that very thing. Then set up his new borders. I thought Russia had more influence over Turkey but maybe Russia doesn't care as long as Assad rightfully stays in power over the rest.

Those Kurds though haha they are really the only thing I can see preventing the US from getting pushed out of their entirely.

Once ISIS is fully defeated.. Well then we shall see. I have a very bad feeling we are going to desert the Kurds. Would be nice if Assad made nice with them. Offer them a region of their own to govern. Not a literal country.. after we abandon them. Thatll keep Turkey from redrawing maps and crap. I know Erdogan wants to extend his borders down there. He said so.

The Kurds are not that angelic you know? When the Turks were sending millions of Armenians on a death march to Syria and Iraq, they used the Kurds to kill them and sell the girls into slavery. To their credit, the Kurds did apologize for their crimes. The Turks never did.

What they themselves suffered under the Turks, especially in the past few years is unbelievable, so it upset me quite a bit to find out they were committing the same crimes and ethnic cleansing against the Arabs in Syria.

Actually Assad is supporting them against Turkey, since they are Syrian citizens. It's Washington that keeps poking its finger in and causing trouble.

You can find article after article in Russian sources where they clearly talk about such a demarcation line

    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201712301060424061-usa-russia-dialogue-across-syria-demarcation/

This is just one example where it is explicitly discussed.

It seems you are in denial or twisting the truth drastically now that things have taken a turn in another direction.

It was local tribal leaders wanting to take back their lands. According to Syria they were attacking a sleeper cell of ISIS, and according to Washington they attacked the Kurds - which might be true, since the Kurds were ethnically cleansing the local inhabitants. Regardless though, the Americans are in Syria illegally and they killed Syrian citizens which makes them murderers as well as thieves.

I love it when Washington tries to excuse its actions and take the moral high ground.

They talk about the US creating a demarcation line, when they gave Lavrov their word that they would respect Syria's sovereignty. But then again the US told Lavrov that Assad could remain president, and then two week later Washington was repeating the same mantra that Assad must go.

What ever happened to ones 'word of honor' in our post civilized world? But then again, what ever happened to diplomacy in our post civilized world?

Assad, Turkey and Russia will meet on same point soon. :) and Turkish and Syrian intelligence services have already started to work together against terrorist PYD group.

Nobody will allow an illegal puppet Kurdish State here.

There are so many nuances, and so much dissembling, disinformation, and fake news, that it's impossible for Westerners to understand it all, not least because (as happened on so many occasions in Afghanistan) an informant could be of any sect and have any agenda. The West will never ever understand the regional mentality, and for that reason we should just get out and leave it to those who do.

You gave the link to the Russian source Sputnik, but this sourse refers to the US officials from Washington. Don't you see that?
Russian MoD has never recognized any "demarkation lines" in Syria.

Honestly, the best option would be to allow them to create their own state. They have lived in the same region for years and they have always been a great addition to the region.

I hope the Kurds can find a way. They are a greatly under appreciated people.

We should totally get out of Syria. Syria has been in the Russian sphere of influence for over half a century. The killing goes on because we make the civil war go on.

I think the lines are drawn Cerb... there's no more choosing sides.. you're on a side and if you don't like it, that's too bad. The US is going after Hezbollah hard, Trump have been accused of leaving a foreign policy vacuum but recently even Tillerson seem to be marching to the same beat. To me it appears the conservatives are not wavering... they know exactly what their goals are.. electing Trump was a means to an end and I'm not even sure Trump could stand in their way. Personally I approve, I'm no conservative but the times have changed and I believe a harder line is what is needed.

Russia has no right to be there, just as the U.S. has none. Don't be foolish. If we were all that intelligent, we'd get out and let them fight it out for eternity so neither of us loses precious lives. They will never stop killing each other. Never. It's in their nature to refuse to believe in borders or control. They are a nomadic people and it's in their dna to not be governed.
