Well the problem with that was that the grandfather had a CCW permit, which in most states is a public record.

My thing is if it's a law, it's one thing and might be legal (but probably not), but if it's simply a regulation invented by bureaucrats it's not legal. In my lifetime, I've seen the expansion of the bureaucracy to the point where the bureaucracy makes laws (they call them regulations) instead of the legislative branch of government. It's part of the overall roughshod expansion of the executive branch over the legislative branch, which seems to be happening at all levels of government.

What lie did he say about the social worker and judge? I've read the article and the complaint several times and can't find it.

Here's the link to the article:
    http://freebeacon.com/issues/lawsui...ndfather-hed-give-gun-rights-foster-grandson/

Here's the link to their complaint about MDHHS:
    http://freebeacon.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/MICHIGAN-1-Complaint.pdf

Please quote the lie, and how you think it was a lie. I'm really confused, as the article mentions nothing about it. Was there another article besides the one above, and the complaint linked to it?

That depends. Many states do not grant access of any kind to those records.

    https://www.rcfp.org/browse-media-l...d-law-winter-2013/chart-gun-permit-data-acces

    Here's Michigan:

Michigan: Records of handgun permits granted by local law enforcement officials are public records, as are databases tracking handgun ownership. A measure recently introduced in the state Senate would make those records exempt from public disclosure. Michigan law already exempts licensed concealed handgun holders data from the state’s Freedom of Information Act.

Demanding someone surrender their Constitutional Rights when they have committed no crime is indeed a violation of the Constitution. Your distaste for fundamental liberty is astonishing to me.

There's a thing in legal term called expectation of privacy. In this case that expectation was violated.
