Lawyers Say Migrant Children Are Living in 'Traumatic and Dangerous' Conditions at Border Detention Site
    https://time.com/5611521/lawyers-inhumane-conditions-border-dentention/

(EL PASO, Texas) — A legal team that recently interviewed over 60 children at a Border Patrol station in Texas says a traumatic and dangerous situation is unfolding for some 250 infants, children and teens locked up for up to 27 days without adequate food, water and sanitation.

A team of attorneys who recently visited the facility near El Paso told The Associated Press that three girls, ages 10 to 15, said they had been taking turns keeping watch over a sick 2-year-old boy because there was no one else to look after him.

When the lawyers saw the 2-year-old boy, he wasn’t wearing a diaper and had wet his pants, and his shirt was smeared in mucus. They said at least 15 children at the facility had the flu, and some were kept in medical quarantine. Children told lawyers that they were fed uncooked frozen food or rice and had gone weeks without bathing or a clean change of clothes at the facility in Clint, in the desert scrubland some 25 miles southeast of El Paso.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is inhumane. Babies and toddlers being left in the same dirty diaper for days and children not allowed to shower or bathe for 3 weeks!? How DARE republicans say this isn't like a concentration camp. How DARE republicans defend this inhumanity. And Trump says the government is not required to give soap or toothbrushes to children ... and can have them sleep on concrete floors in frigid, overcrowded cells.

How can any human being support a man that will do this. How can any president change his mind to spare shooting down an Iranian plane because there were 35 humans aboard but intentionally torture and emotionally torment and scar for life thousands and thousands of innocent little kids? If cameras were allowed inside these concentration camps and the American public saw with their own eyes what our government is doing to innocent children, there would be a public outcry like no other. That's precisely why cameras and the press are barred from entering.

THIS HAS TO END - AND SOON or the American public will rise up against this violently.

Funny how you blame Trump, and not their parents who brought them here in the first place.

It says more about your and your mentality than it does about Trump.

Presumably their parents still think this is better than "home", or they could turn around and go back.....

Do you really believe this story is true? Do you?

On the flip side, how were the kids treated in their home countries or during their trip to our border?

This story is total BS. But if the kids are being treated so poorly, then release them back on the other side of the border where they weren't.

    Case closed.

Lawyers complaining that their clients are being mis-treated. Perhaps a sign should be strung across the entire border, bring in children and they will be put in "concentration camps" That ought to stop this foolishness. Any parent that drags their kid across 3000 miles of desert wearing only a tee shirt and flip flops and still weighing over 300 pounds should be also under suspicion.

Holly Cooper, the leader of the "team of attorneys" is known to sensationalize the situation on the border. She makes her living as being an advocate for detained youths. She will often take an isolated incident or situation and attempt to paint it as the norm. While i have no doubt that the care being given is likely not optimal, it is a very unique situation where over-crowding has become a major problem. If people are concerned about how children will be treated, maybe they should not bring them to the US at this time.

We should send them back to the only home the children ever knew much faster than we are now.

Why is it that lefties are only concerned with the children once they arrive? What about the dangerous journey to the border?

If lefties actually cared about the well being of these children they would be for securing the border and not giving them a reason to come in the first place.

Please, this faux concern is obvious. These children are being used for political purposes.

Trump should do what he was thinking before and send them to the richest zip codes in the US.

Clearly they have the resources to take care of these poor people.

For sure, the end of illegal immigration can't come soon enough.

On again the Trumpets demonstrate their empathetic feelings toward the poor and huddled masses.

No we’d be making it easier for them to get here, not telling them to stay in the awful conditions that make the journey worth it.

So what are we supposed to do with more illegals than we can handle? They come here sick, so are we supposed to build a boat load of hospitals on the border to take care of them? How about we also build them some nice hotels and restaurants?

Come on leftists, what's your solution? Your cities are overflowing with homeless people but this is where your concern is? And don't forget, you guys trust the government to do everything, so why is all this failure occurring?

    "A Lawyer said".... ROFL!

They don't belong here. Blame the parents. We are not obligated to do anything for foreigners breaking our laws. We already accept more Legal Immigrants that almost all the countries of the world combined, and Trump has pledged to increase that number with a Comprehensive Immigration Plan that also helps Dreamers.

Not our problem. They have their own country, they should thrive to improve them, not flee.

Are the conditions at these border detention sites worse then their home country they left? If so why did they leave?

If we had blocked the illegals at the border, we wouldn't have this problem.

We are the dumbest nation on the planet.
