Do you think google is also deleting posts on this forum that are considered thought crimes?

Cool beans, I remember you, I was under my real name Bruce Lacey then, but got "booted" right before the Pres. Election. Lol, I have had a couple accounts there since then, I usually only last a couple days at best.. I see Katz, been wondering where all the "old" people went.

I do know where a lot of them ended up (besides here) but we're not allowed to really promote or demote other social media cites here. However, if you know Dabs on FB then he can direct you to where the old community still meets today.

Well, I'll try it here and see what wiggles. Goodness knows I've been in, out and around a half dozen sites over the years. Always looking for some good chit chat.

So, I'm sitting here after listening to Trump describe how he would respond to a NorKo attack with "Fire and Fury". Okay, fine. "Fire and Fury like no one has seen before", I think those are his words. Is it time for us to consider that it could actually happen? I guess, according to Kim Ung (or however, you spell it) he's got his sights on Guam, but they say he could hit LA, or Chicago. I hope he flies that thing over Oregon, but he could hit next door to me too. Now wait just a minute folks! We've always known in the backs of our minds that we might be hit by a nuke someday, but we lived and survived that threat for so long during the Cold War that the thought kind of dried out. Should we be concerned? Should I start losing sleep? I am starting to get really pissed off here! I don't want to worry about popping nukes. Remember in the 50's when responsible fathers starting installing shelters in their back yard? My father in law did that. We used it to store canned goods. Should I grab a shovel and start digging?

This forum is different from others I've used and I'm not sure I am posting correctly. Please understand I am not a kid. I don't do kid things. I don't talk kid talk or walk kid walk. I'm an old man who rather likes to chat with kids however. Your lives are so different from what my life was like so long ago, even tho to me, it doesn't seem that long ago. I had lived most of my adult life before computers came onto the scene. I recall when Bill Gates said, "Someday all houses will have a computer". I thought, Yeah right! In those days computers were much more expensive than they are now.

I think your content is fine, but some forums like people to stay on the subject matter of the thread. My mother just "found" social media.. So you are not alone in you naiveness of the tech world.

The first war that I remember is the Korean War and therefore the first president that I recall clearly was Truman. I was pretty young. TV was new and most regions in the country didn't have it. We got our news from the papers. Each major city had a morning and an afternoon paper and if something important happened they'd print an "Extra". Kids, like me generally learned the news from the newsreels that were shown in the movie theatres and they were pretty good. They made them exciting. Most people, young and old, went to the movies weekly. They were inexpensive. The big news was the War and polio and everyone knew someone who came down with the disease. We lived in fear of it and there was a polio season. If you made it thru the season you figured that you had another year.

Yeah, (INSERT ANOTHER SITE HERE) got to be a drag too. Tried, (INSERT ANOTHER SITE HERE) for a bit, but alas, they too stopped tickling my fancy.

(INSERT ANOTHER SITE HERE) is pretty good, pop in there a bit, & I still find myself lurking at (INSERT ANOTHER SITE HERE), which always leaves me laughing.

Outside of here & (INSERT ANOTHER SITE HERE) I'm not real active anyplace else.

    Welcome (Belated) to the board.

I was actually poking a finger of fun, @ this board.

So, perhaps a bit of your own advice ... For yourself?
