I mean what? Is slavery something he's ever experienced? Not sure how many slaves made millions of dollars for entertainment. Also, when the slave master was to "get rid of y'all", that didn't mean trade or forced retirement to live out a life of luxury, that meant death or beatings. I swear LBJ is going full SJW. By that logic, every boss is a slave owner, and every employee is a slave. Who knew!

Why doesn’t he buy a team and run it the way he wants? He can afford it. Let’s see how much better he treats his employees. When agents are ****ing with you for every penny let’s see what a fabulous owner he becomes. I’m betting he’ll be just like the rest.

 

No doubt that James is off-base on this one. The old guys are in charge when it comes to running their enterprise. And yes, their employees do what they are told or face the consequences. It isn't a democracy and everybody does not have an equal say, nor should they.

 

Everything is "slavery". Everything is "rape". Everything is "racist". And Lebron never went to college to get this kind of brainwashing.

 

If I hired someone and paid them, let alone millions, I’d expect them to do what u asked them. Don’t get arrested, don’t do drugs...pretty simple

The part where he mentions skin color while mostly true is needlessly polarizing. They happen to be white but most racial issue are really more about rich vs poor not black vs white..... sounds like he should be mad at the people who negotiated and sign the cba. Also a lot of his message comes across as communist.

 

Yeah, and in the NFL, its not 98% black players. Everyone, white, black, Hispanic, Polynesian, etc all have to listen to the owners. From the GMs down to the 3rd string practice punter. When the person who hires you to do something that should make the company more money, and you refuse or do something stupid to push away customers, you should be fired. Whats amazing is that the NFL is a socialist commune with their profit sharing and salary caps. The MLB and NBA don't have those regulations. Teams will pay what they can afford. Its why NY Yankees and the red sox are always buying the most 5* players while Tampa Bay Rays are making it work by training rookies to be great and selling them off when they are worth a pretty penny.

 

Plus he stepped onto the NBA plantation of his own free will, and could have stepped off the NBA plantation at any moment after that of his own free will -- with the help of some good contract lawyers.

The NBA never would have hired a slave bounty hunter to bring him back. They might have hired a professional pleader/weeper to beg him to come back, however.

The insinuation that there has been no sacrifice for, and no progress made by and for black people is complete bullshit.

 

Yea.... nba vs nfl is apple to oranges. What drives up worth is scarcity, nba roster is up to 15 players a team nfl is 52. Also nba you have to be tall which again drives up scarcity and worth. Nba player has more leverage to bargain than NFL player . That’s just how it is

I agree. Its like Baseball. Pretty much any baseball player could go play another sport. Very few other professional athletes could ever hit a 97+mph fastball. The NFL just has a cap on how much the team can spend on their overall roster. If the owner thinks one specific player can get them to a championship, they will throw the majority of the cap towards that one player.

 

Liberals will let someone get away with saying anything s/he wants as long as s/he's the right color, gender, religion, etc. But if someone suffers from acute white privilege then speaking the same words is racist, sexist, homophobic, islamophobic and so on.

Had I started this thread I would have been put on blast by certain lefties on this board because creating threads using published stories about the things people actually do and say is racist. It's happen numerous times before.
