the right is more pro-corporations, the left is more pro the people the right wants to call corporations "people" so they can say they are for the people

The right favors individual rights. The left favors group rights. The right also favors the rights of the people. The left favors the government.
As flawed as they are..... the G.O.P. seem to consider themselves perhaps somewhat less intellectual than the Democrats..... but they try harder to be more Libertarian...... whereas Democrats and Democrat appointees just don't seem to mind decreasing individual freedoms........... Decreasing the freedom of women to terminate the life of their unborn child right up until the day of their birth........ actually increases freedom for the unborn.......... for one example.
I may be mistaken but I do believe it is babies who could survive to adulthood outside the womb being termed abortions that is the point of objection. At least Moi's. The rape victim had some 20+ weeks to seek an abortion.
Abortion under 20 weeks is nobody's business but the mother. And I am not available for discussion nor tolerant of paraphrasing that. I have advocated anti abortion folks invest in advertising the alternatives. I even proposed an ad with my inner Don Draper. Did you see it? Anti Abortion folks should create awareness of birthing programs and mainstream new ones. Pre Birth adoption. Creative Adoption allowing involvement of the birth mother with the child. Maybe even homes for unwed mothers where they can continue school, etc. Whatever. Anti Abortion folks should create and advertise the other choice.
I hate to say this but it's probably a mix that best preserves freedoms. There are some freedoms and liberties that each side does a better job of protecting, so at least with a mix you'll have people fighting for those freedoms on both sides. I think there are some totalitarian-minded people on both sides.

Evidence is accumulating that the political Right is focused on protecting the rights of wealthy white Americans, but not non-white or non-wealthy Americans. The political Left supports equal rights for all under the law, but feels the wealthy class has been given special privileges & special treatment far too long. Leftists don't want to take rights away from the wealthy, but do want to eliminate special treatment for them.
There can be no question that the patriotic side, that is the Dems, do that FAR better than the right wing.
