It only took me 3 minutes to agree with Richard Dawkins. Well, at least in regards to the science of evolution.

What I disagree with him on is that conservatives are not child abusers because they take their kids to church.

Maybe I have a different worldview than everyone else. I'm about as hardwired a scientist as you can get. But, I don't hate conservatives and I don't think they should have their kids taken away because of their religion. Nor do I think we should have a secondary educational system that discourages conservative participation. That will only foster a further divide between the educated and uneducated and leave the uneducated in a position where they can't separate region from science. In other words, bashing conservatives by calling them morons and losers isn't the answer. What I'm saying is...more carrot...less stick. Also, less hating is good too.

You said you were an undergrad.
Also tried to pretend you were majoring in QM.
    You are not

I can't speak for all colleges but I do know that in most situations you must get a degree in physics first before entering grad school to study quantum mechanics in depth. Sure, you can certainly take an undergrad QM course, but I've never heard of an undergrad QM degree either. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I'm just saying I'm skeptical too.

Liberal arts for those that do little.

Engineering and science for those that produce.

Alphabet gender studies for the truly useless.

Again, a moronic statement on your part. Who do think designed the packaging on every product you buy? Who do think writes and produces the films that make literally billions for our economy? How many thousands of people were employed by George Lucas - a liberal arts major? The past CEO's of Whole Foods, Hewlett Packard and HBO and YouTube - all liberal arts majors. Was it a scientist or an artist who painted your Icon?

Hell, we know the last CEO's of both Starbucks and Disney were liberal arts grads. Have you employed more Americans than Oprah - she was a liberal arts major. Are you a Supreme Court Justice like Clearance Thomas - a liberal arts major?

It's about the person - not the major.

I painted my Icon in the 70s, a copy of a Frazetta illustration. BTW, more skills than most and now write software.

Yes, I know you stole the Franzetta design. But I notice you didn't answer the numerous examples I posted which prove you were just regurgitating mindless rhetoric that falls apart when applied to the many individuals who hold liberal arts degrees.

What I can't figure out is why these people care if someone has a liberal arts degree? Why does it seem to bother some people so much? Too much free time on their hands? Do they need a hobby to keep themselves busy so as not to get so worked up over such a silly thing?

Uh, you do know when majoring in physics QM is going to a part it. And I was studying that part of it at the time in a text book. It intrigues me the most in physics and will want to pursue it onward most.

If I had a linear algebra text book open in front of me at the time I could have correctly said that I was studying linear algebra.

I'm not going to write a critical essay with each post I make, but concisely convey as much information as I can with very few sentences.

The only relevance I see in your questioning is they are pretty irrelevant...

    :EDIT:

Not much in questioning more your statements.

For many of them, they have retired, are bored, nothing to do but get indoctrinated into RW fake BS like Faux and radio.
Then their indoctrinated minds can't grasp reality anymore, and they think the rest of the world has been indoctrinated. When it is they that have the tin foil hats.

    http://inside.collegefactual.com/stories/top-10-most-popular-majors

Top 10 means the majority. Do you know what top means?
They are the 10 with the most graduates. The 10 most popular. Out of the most popular, most of them have high demand jobs waiting for them.

I guess it also depends on which church:
“When we read about Creation in Genesis, we run the risk of imagining God was a magician, with a magic wand able to do everything. But that is not so,” Francis said.

He added: “He created human beings and let them develop according to the internal laws that he gave to each one so they would reach their fulfilment.

I doubt the pope thinks it's appropriate to have creationism in the science class either.

Yesterday, Pope Francis, the head of the Roman Catholic Church, said that Darwinian evolution is real, and so is the Big Bang, according to the Telegraph. Elsewhere in his speech to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, the Pope said:

(Having trouble with that link to telegraph.)

Discussion on the subject of what the government should be doing in regards to education, and it was the topic for an English paper, so he brought it up in English class as part of the class discussion. His saving graces with that professor are that he's one of the few students willing to express any opinion at all, and he does so respectfully.

It was also the Catholic priest George Lemaitre who is considered to be the father of the big bang theory while working on behalf of a Catholic university.

To be totally precise, the distinction should not be between religious and political conservatism. It's between Cultural and Social conservatism. Religion is part of cultural conservatism, and politics is part of Social conservatism. But in the Dark Ages and during the Spanish Inquisition they were almost indistinguishable. Galileo's trial, for example, was brought about just as much for political reasons as for religious ones.

As for conservatism being necessary, Criticism of new ideas is certainly always important. Not sure if that's what you mean. But there are always extremists who take conservatism too far, and they always seem to eventually take over the movement. Which is what is happening today.

And if you don't believe that, just look at all the Nobels, Awards for the advancement of Science and voluminous scientific publications by great scientific luminaries like Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

So, the professor, perhaps the university, isn't some bastard leftist group that all get made out to be?
If one expresses themselves respectfully, then no matter their views, they shouldn't be put down.

Top 10 does not mean majority.
Perhaps you should study how histograms work
