Let's chat about the atheist religion II

I saw the other thread; was annoyed that in my introduction thread here, atheists were trying to get me into a debate, so I have some issues of my own.

Atheists pretend that they're all about not having Christianity forced down their throat when they are trying to force their non-belief on us by interjecting it into irrelevant threads. It got me to wondering.

After many years, I do not recall the faction of atheists that have started or even participated in any threads where they took Muslims to task. And now there IS a religion that teaches Muslims to kill or convert people.

Additionally people proclaim that they are atheists, but get really defensive about being equated to secular humanists AND trying to imply that anyone linking secular humanism to the general policies of the U.S. government are "conspiracy theorists" when public policy IS consistent with secular humanism.

The people claiming to be atheists seem to be more about squelching Christians than having equality with all religions. Fact is, I'm only familiar with those threads wherein atheists want to bust the chops of Christians... Never Jews, never Muslims and not even with secular humanists (of which many atheists claim are not one and the same.) Anyone else ever notice that?

 

Aren't you "busting the chops" of other religions when you complain about their practices?

The basic saying about the religious being atheists 99% of the time applies quite nicely to your post.

I'd call such people stereotypical atheists. Even on this board there are usually a couple atheists who are not stereotypical, but they generally don't hang out in this subforum.

 

Well, this is a debate forum, lol. If you post about religion, people with conflicting beliefs will respond to you. You can ignore their posts if you don't want to discuss it.

You have the option of blocking members, or not responding to their posts and threads. Nobody is forcing anything on you simply by posting something to the internet. The vast majority of threads here aren't about religion or atheism at all.

Atheists actually take Muslims to task far more than most people. Prominent atheists like Richard Dawkins, Bill Maher, Sam Harris, and Christopher Hitchens (RIP) are famous for their attacks on Islam. The mainstream media had attacked them quite a bit for their positions:

Most atheists are very proud to be secular humanists because humanism is about helping people. I don't know what you are talking about.

If by "squelch", you mean "debate", well this is a debate forum. Many people on online debate forums are rude unfortunately, and you are free to ignore their posts. Many atheists had a turbulent time leaving their religion and so have a lot of feelings about that and want to debate about it.

Continuing with my previous thought, most atheists deconverted from Christianity or are in Christianity-dominant regions. There is just little emotional reason for me to refute Taoism when I don't even know anybody of that religion and didn't have any experiences with that religion at all. But my whole family and much of the culture I live in is Christian. But as I said before, atheists do attack Islam quite a bit.

 

The irony in that of course is that since atheists cannot prove the nonexisence of G/god, they too are believers.

 

thats because their beliefs are not beliefs, only theist can believe anything, atheist, more accurately our neoatheists claim to have a brain void without any beliefs at all.

Thats because they are neither secular nor humanists, they have no guiding principles and they celebrate Christmas if you can make sense out of that!

until they are put on the hot seat where their theories are examined under the same scrutiny as they put theists and they crumble before their eyes. Denial has its price.

I do not take a position on the existence of God, either for or against, you know full well I am agnostic, Do you have a problem with that?

Does that lack of position mean that you lack a belief God exists?

 

It means I have abstained from a vote either way. If you ever come up with proof no G/god(s) exist for a fact instead of your faith in your beliefs, let me know, otherwise as I have told you before you are wasting your time on me when you have so many theists to harass.

 

Don't you find it interesting that so many people TELL atheists what atheists believe and think, even ignoring what atheists actually tell them. I think some just cannot conceive of a life without their imaginary friend to hold their hand.

 

But atheists claim they lack belief and the inability to belief is also the inability to think, so someone has to tell atheists what to think!

Thats the neoatheist belief system and associated religion.

 

The real danger to your religion is not atheists it is apathy, look to Europe where many people simply do not consider gods anymore and why should they, after all gods are irrelevant to most peoples modern lives. The only time they think about it is when some fundamentalist nutter wants to kill them or more likely tries to pass some law to invoke their gods prejudice.

By the way have a look at the thread "about the Holocaust" if you want to see what happens when some one goes down the real hate a religion rabbit hole!

Thank you, if you ever find anyone capable of telling atheists what they believe using evidence and reasoned debate rather than assertions, please let us atheists know. In the meantime I have no position on gods!

 

Sorry I can only offer 'reasoned' debate since atheists have no evidence to counter no evidence to offer that proves no God exists.

Here you want 'reason' here it is:
Atheists faithfully believe that no God exists, atheists have no evidence what so ever to back up their claim.

Doesnt matter what your personal beliefs are or are not, if you want to come out here and litigate on the side of atheism you are litigating a claim to which no evidence exists in support of such claim, good luck with that.
