    Uh-huh.
Mean while, action got the cop arrested. Is there violence going on in the streets now?
Like you said, it took a few days. Nows the time for clean-up. In the streets, and in the police departments.

IF the streets were 10% as clean and controlled as the police departments, this crap wouldn't have happened in the first place.
Floyd George wasn't picked off the sidewalk for abuse, he was under arrest for passing counterfeit money.
The people place the burden of cleaning up their neighborhoods ON the police in the first place.

If they gave a damn about law and order, they would be protesting and turning in the arsonists, vandalism and the crimes they are seeing committed right now, wouldn't they?

Officers have to meet violent resistance with stronger violence and that is why they get the benefit of the doubt most times.

And of course they should get that benefit- but I don't know anyone who thinks being a cop is a license to abuse. The question is how that is dealt with, because it is going to happen from time to time. Certainly setting fire to your local auto parts store is not the way- and good relationships with cops is not going to be gained by throwing bricks at them. One doesn't have to be too smart to grasp that, which makes it clear that their objective doesn't include that at all.

Indeed. Racist cops have become a terrorist force in the country, killing blacks at will and expecting to get away with it.
And people who are making excuses for the cops' actions are enabling terrorists.

No one is making excuses for the cop, everyone seems to agree he used excessive force that led to the death of Floyd and want him prosecuted for it.

Where the point of contention comes in is that it is automatically racism every time something bad happens to a black criminal. Are you equally outraged when the criminal is white and dies at the hands of a police officer? After all, it is happening to white offenders at nearly double the amount.

No one is going to entertain the lunacy of institutional racism and white privileged in 2020.

It seems to me that there are too many people looking for enemies and few looking for solutions. Conservatives as well as the President have been promoting "it us against them" since before the last election and today I am beginning to believe them. If people think this is about one person who unjustly killed another they are sadly mistaken. This is about a lot of people unjustly killed or denied their rights over time. If you justified the killing of people like Trevor Martin or Ahmad Arbery you may be part of other peoples frustration. If you try to turn this into a war you may regret it at the ballot box because your candidate will be judged on how effectively this and the covid-19 problems are handled.

That's hogwash. If you don't know it, you should.

Look up the number of people killed by police. I have, and the ratio of white to black in 2018 is 399 white- 209 black. That's close to twice as many whites as blacks. In 2019, 370 white to 235 black.
Being black is not a special privilege that makes anything you do an exception to the rules that apply to others, everything that happens to you a racist act caused by others.
Act respectable, get respected. Act like trash, get treated like trash. Race doesn't alter that or make that happen- people do it with their own attitudes and behavior.

That's bullshit and you know it. Since blacks only account for 20% of the population, they are being murdered by cops at a much higher rate than whites.

And they commit more crimes as well. But of course, since their black you think that's ok, right? And you seem to think that any black killed by a policeman is "murdered". What do you call it when a black person murders a cop?

The bulk of these problems and police interactions are in big cities; not rural or small towns. The percentage of blacks in cities is much different. For example- Chicago; where whites outnumber blacks by .07%- virtually equal. In Atlanta, blacks are a solid majority.

The key to much of what people believe is the way the media portrays things, and for quite a while the MSM has been ignoring crimes that don't fit it's liberal agenda, and doubling down on those that do.
A number of years back, police in here got a call into a black area- and were shot in their cars before they even got out. It was bushwhack- by a pair of black men. Never made much in national news. Two other black men in Kansas broke into an apartment, took 5 young people hostage. Took them to a empty snow covered field in the middle of the night, made them strip, and shot them. One girl shot in the head actually had a glancing blow, but played dead and later walked naked to a light in the distance. These guys were caught with overwhelming evidence- and yet they are still living and being cared for in a state prison, 20 years later- while endless appeals for mercy carry on. IF the cops were as racist as you think, those two would have never made it to the police station.

The cries of cop racial discrimination ring hollow in most cases when you do the background work.

When has a black person murdered a cop and not been arrested for it? WTF?
Not only that, no black people do NOT commit more crimes, the majority of crimes are committed by the majority. White males.

You're buying the propaganda. GOOD people, white or black, obey the laws and behave themselves. Trash does not, and it is the people who make themselves what they are.
The communities with higher percentages of blacks seem to have higher levels of crime. How do you account for that? But look at major crime overall- like murders.

This from the FBI's Expanded Homicide Data: (data for the year 2016)

Of 2870 blacks murdered- 2570 of them were murdered by blacks, so 89.5% of the black murders are done by black people, 8.4% by white people.

Of 3499 whites murdered in the same period, 2854 were murdered by whites, so 81% of the white murders are done by whites, 15.2% by black people- almost double the 8.4% above.

Black people are almost twice as likely to kill a white person as a white person is to kill a black person.

So is the numbers of murders proportionate to the number of people in our population? NO.
Since the percentage of our population that is black is roughly 20%, why is the percentage of black murders not 20% of the total, or 1/4th that of whites?
If the level were proportionate, there would be only about 800 blacks murdered instead of 2870. That's over THREE times out of proportion, and 90% done by their own race.

Like it or not, people and cops have more reason to fear being killed by a black person than being killed by a white person. The numbers clearly show that, and the difference is significant, not minor. It's not racism, it's the facts. And by the way, murder IS a crime regardless of race, so they count when you say "black people do not commit more crimes".

Your logic is extremely flawed on many levels, and I dont have the time to correct it.

"Since the percentage of our population that is black is roughly 20%, why is the percentage of black murders not 20% of the total, or 1/4th that of whites?
If the level were proportionate, there would be only about 800 blacks murdered instead of 2870. That's over THREE times out of proportion, and 90% done by their own race.
    "

Nothing else to say when confronted with such child like logic, aside from..Good day. You have fun with that, and I can see where problems begin with people who think like you. None of those numbers correlate to your cherry picked findings..none of them. Each one is part of a whole other context of information gathering that cannot be used to make such claims. And if anything may actually show how black are far more likely to be falsely accused and convicted over whites.

Most cop shops have some form of internal review process, if not a formal Internal Affairs section. They take diligent care to protect the rights of the accused officer while investigating the alleged offense. It is a lengthy clear-eyed process and not one for liberal sniveling because such a unit honestly concludes some cop had to deal with a charging moron with a brick and putting him down was mandatory.

That said: knee on the neck as C.O.D.? The autopsy says otherwise. THAT guy goes straight through the process. If he's lucky they won't put him in general population.

Of course you also think Floyd George was a nice guy, as the news coverage avoids saying unpopular things.

Floyd George was 6' 6", and that alone is very intimidating- but that's not relevant to who he was.

Who he was- was a an ex-con from Texas, where he spent 5 years is prison for an armed home invasion, and was being arrested in Minneapolis for passing counterfeit money.
The kind of guy you would invite over for supper with your family, right?

Cops have to deal with people like that everyday- and their very lives depend on maintaining control of the situation. Everybody agrees The cop went overboard and is guilty- but nobody wants to acknowledge that they were dealing with an ex-con felon. And of course, the cops mistake justifies thousands of lootings and arson... because the people doing it are trash, they don't need a reason, just an excuse.
Remember that when they come to your house.
