    It's very easy to ridicule people on this site..........For a good laugh, go to page #___, and find out what several posters have said about Sweden's Herd Immunity.

    Back last July, several Swedish experts/officials, AND a few unwise/gullible posters on this site believed Sweden achieved Herd Immunity......Daily cases were down to nearly zero, blah blah blah, however, since then, Sweden had two major Covid19 Waves;

    Not too long ago, several experts/articles concluded that 60% immunity was a must achieve percentage.

    Agree or disagree?

    Their first vaccinations didn’t occur until Dec 27 2020 so I doubt heard immunity was plausible then

    Also, they are currently at 36.7% vaccinated as of today — heard immunity isn’t a firm percentage but most sources put it at 50% to 90% of the population.

    Definitely not Covid19's needed immunity percentage

    NOTE: June 2020, several Sweedish experts believed Stockholm achieved 30% immunity, and subsequently, said city had two major waves/surges.

    Conclusion; 33% immunity....way to low.

    Perhaps we'll achieve 100% immunity in 10 years, thus, after multiple, and different variant booster shots.

    Today, the wisest Americans are the ones chanting; ''We haven't yet achieved herd immunity'', thus, don't count your chickens before they hatch. Agree or disagree?

    I am far from informed on what constitutes heard immunity and how to achieve it but I agree — again, with my limited knowledge — we are not there yet.

    How would they have achieved heard immunity in June 2020 when the vaccine wasn’t available until December 2020?

    Well, several Republican governors are piss off because their low vaccination percentages, and new variants are overwhelming their hospitals.

    Ah! I see!
    They wrongly believed heard immunity could be achieved by people developing antibodies due to prior infection. COVID doesn’t seem to operate that way as reinfection does occur.

    Not just developing antibodies due to prior infection......said Sweedish study concluded that a large percentage of the population (20 - 30%) had pre-existing immunity.....something to do with T-CELLS.

    T cell: A type of white blood cell that is of key importance to the immune system and is at the core of adaptive immunity, the system that tailors the body's immune response to specific pathogens. The T cells are like soldiers who search out and destroy the targeted invaders.

    Thus, mathematically;

    20% infected with Covid19, thus, immune

    PLUS

    20% of population carrrying said T cells, thus, immune

    = 40% immunity

    Sweden has 70% one dose vaccination level and somewhere closing in on 50% of both doses. They also sequence all positive samples. 60% Delta, 30% Alpha were the latest numbers. They aren't quite the laggards they were painted as being.
