As an equalitarian and civil rights activist, working for racial and gender equality for everyone, I believe everyone should be judged as individuals based on their merit, and their race and gender should not even matter.

I am confused. If you work for racial and gender equality then how can race and gender not matter? How could you judge whether they have achieved equality or not?

A professor objected, and his argument with a loud and profane group of protesters outside his classroom soon rocketed across the internet.

On Friday, more than three weeks later, Evergreen State College had to hold its commencement 30 miles from campus, at a rented baseball stadium where everyone had to pass through metal detectors.

In between, Evergreen, a small public college in Olympia along the Puget Sound, found itself on the front line of the national discontent over race, speech and political disagreement, becoming a magnet for extremes on the left and the right.

After the dispute gained national exposure — amplified by the professor’s appearance on Fox News, his op-ed in The Wall Street Journal, and right-leaning websites’ heaping derision on their newest college target — the professor, Bret Weinstein, said he had to stay away from campus for his own safety and move his family into hiding.

Student protesters briefly occupied the president’s office to press their complaints of racism on campus. In one encounter, the president, George Bridges, was recorded meekly complying with a demand not to use hand gestures when he spoke because they were threatening.

The campus has received threats of violence via social media and calls to the county sheriff and 911 that forced administrators to lock down the campus for three weekdays in a row. The college had another lockdown on Thursday, as dozens of professed free-speech defenders tangled with anarchists who were waiting for them at Red Square, the campus plaza named for its red-brick walkways.

 

So a dozen dumbass college students started shouting, and snowflakes across the nation decided this means blacks are terrorizing everyone.

I don't think it's similar. The nazis dehumanized the jews as enemies. Liberals would laugh at the assertion mostly because they believe being a white male is an advantage, not a disadvantage. This view might be an oversimplification, like a poor person who thinks rich people must be very happy and without serious problems like them, but it's not dehumanizing and preparing to exterminate them. No... that would be how Israelis and Palestinians view each other, but one has more power than the other.

 

Equalitarians believe inequalities that are the result of discrimination are wrong and should be changed.

However, when inequalities are the result of things other than discrimination, they are not wrong; they just are.

For example, men tend to be stronger than women.

Therefore, they tend to be better at physically demanding jobs.

However, this is not always the case.

For example, two women recently passed the army's elite ranger training school.

Most men couldn't do that.

Therefore, people should be judged as individuals based on their merit and their race and gender should not even matter.

 

So race and gender does matter if there are inequalities based on discrimination. You don't need to be a "equalitarian" to think that, but judging "merit" is often a subjective matter.

When WRITTEN the DoI did NOT mean what is being disingenuously DISTORTED as an ENDORSEMENT of religion.

I can read the DOI for myself. It's meaning is quite clear, and says nothing along the lines of your Professor. I don't need a stranger to tell me what to think. And fyi, God and religion aren't the same thing.

 

I'm pretty sure that slavery began in the middle east and Africa. Africa was the hub of the slave trade. Africa imported more white slaves from Europe, than the number of black Africans which Africans enslaved from among their own peoples and shipped out to the new world. Africans essentially infected the new world with their practice. Americans eventually had a war to eradicate slavery in America and align themselves with the concepts of equality and freedom in our founding documents. That Civil War cost six hundred thousand American lives, almost all of them white. So spare us the stereotypical nonsense about evil whites victimizing blacks. Nothing could be further from the truth.
