I have met at least 3 such Venezuelan expats here in Florida too. Apparently they are a part of Marco Rubio's constituency.

I'm glad they escaped with their $, but I doubt they speak for the campesinos unable to get out.

I had several conversations with 1 of the 3, and they were all white. Apparently the darker skinned masses would rather stay in their homeland and would rather see living conditions improved. I never did manage to discuss with the one his opinion or knowledge of the effects of years worth of US imposed sanctions on that country.

I understand how those sanctions have ultimately punished the people of Venezuela, and I understand that the US has been plundering Central and South America for a century or more.
