Italy is not a First World country in the same sense of other countries in Western Europe. Unemployment is high among the younger generation, and many young people are leaving Italy trying to find better opportunities in other countries. People in other parts of Europe may not realize that the material living standards in Italy are significantly lower than their countries.
History is repeating. We have loads of people of Italian descent. Italy is also rounding up its Roma https://therealnews.com/stories/italy-prepares-to-round-up-sinti-and-roma
Indeed!! interesting factoid...perhaps.....anyway....there was an Italian POW camp up near where my old man lived they used to ship them down from Pitmedden and housed around Durris, Crathes and Banchory during planting and harvest season where they were on trust and free to move around. They were really well liked by the locals...especially the ladies....anyway most opted to stay in the area when they were released...ergo lots of Italians in the area
The OP seemingly just discovered something that has been a problem in Italy for more than a decade and pretty much everybody in Europe who is halfway informed, reads papers and watches the news is familiar with. Shall I say "congratulations"? I find this self-fabricated category "not a first world country in the same sense ..." pretty meaningless. Italy is a first world and a G 7 country. It suffers from high unemployment in the age group 15-24/25 and this rate has increased over the past decade, that's all. Greece, Spain and Italy have had this problem for many years. You should have posted your OP in 2008, it would have been a bit more "news."
I have seen a documentary about the Italians coming here in mass numbers due to the poverty in Italy and how they settled and became part of the scenery. I think it is quite genuine. Mind you I cannot remember too much about it at the moment.
I have troubles determining if you are a Palestinian gypsy or a Roma gypsy or Liberal gypsy. Either way, it's not good. Please, elaborate.
