Bunk, I've heard of them shredding Bibles they confiscate at the airport. They seem very afraid of open exchange of religious ideas. Why shouldn't there be a Christian evangelistic campaign there? What are they afraid of? Saudi funds lots of radical Wahabi mosques in the US. I say we stop that until there is complete freedom to construct churches and synagogues there.
I have been back several times for long visits. Western women are no longer wearing abayas. King Salman opposed the abaya 20 years ago when he was minister of the interior and tourism. Do you know him? He's a really nice man and so kind... and calm nothing like Trump.
One should not generalize the traits of some Muslims (perhaps even the majority) on all Muslims. That said - If Graham is so concerned about Islamist extremists (the term he should have used) - perhaps he should stop arming them with tens of thousands of tons of sophisticated military hardware.
My boss who worked in SA and has a son who still does tells me the Saudis don’t like to see passports indicating the traveler visited Israel. If you tell Israel you’ll be going to SA they make other arrangements with your passport. They also told me the surest way to see a Saudi woman get a beating is for a non Muslim guy to flirt with her.
Jews with US passports visit Saudi Arabia all the time. I met a number of Jewish businessmen at a 5 star hotel in Dammam.. and my nephew who is Jewish visited for 10 days 3 years ago. Your boss was gaslighting you. Nobody flirts with a woman in an Abaya and NOBODY beats anyone in public.
Just STOP. Yeah they may be Jewish but they don't tell the Saudis that or they'll be thrown out. Fact is that Israelis are barred entry into Saudi Arabia...like almost all the other M.E. countries. Israel now doesn't stamp foreign passports because Saudis and other M.E. countries will bar entry, just as @Steve N said. I was in Israel last year (don't feel the need to go back to that place either) and they did NOT stamp my passport, they give you a small printout about the size of a business card and scan your passport. There is no trace of visiting Israel in my passport.
So did you lived in the outlying Villages around the large cities? It's like saying I lived in Jackson Oaks California and never felt threatened and I cant believe you survived twenty miles north living in San Jose-Buena Vista area
I traveled all over Saudi Arabia.. I lived in a camp, but went into Arab towns several times a week. And, camping in the desert or on the beach.. Moving around Ras Tanura, Abqaiq, Dhahran, Hofuf, Khobar and Dammam was pretty ordinary. Trips to Jedda, Riyadh, al Habla were far less frequent. Its a fascinating country from the souks to caving to SCUBA diving.
Are you talking about the Umayyad dynasty. Damascus had a sizeable Jewish community long before the birth of Christ. I visited Damascus years ago.. It was very old and interesting.
Lindsey Graham.. He must live in his head. He's spewing bias and propaganda.. as if he never met a Muslim. ISIS is made up of losers and alcoholics and drugs addicts.. criminals. They really can't be considered Muslims when they break ALL the rules of Islam.
You can't make this stuff up!! ISIS = Islamic State They follow the Quran as written. They aren't radical Muslims....they are just Muslims.
Oh okay, I'll bite. Explain it for all of us. I'm very interested in your vast knowledge of all things the savages consider normal.
And to think Trump is catching hell for not flooding "Whats sounds like a paradise" with soldiers to kill people that are basically harmless reading this flow information.. I couldn't be any more confused at this point! But PF tends to be a confusing forum most of the time. I think the contradictions are the the hardest to wade through!
