The senator slammed Mr Trump over the move, saying it would lead to the revival of the Islamic State, hamper US-Turkish relations and prove serve as “a stain” on America’s honour.

He added: “Also, if this plan goes forward will introduce Senate resolution opposing and asking for reversal of this decision.”

“I hope I’m making myself clear how shortsighted and irresponsible this decision is in my view,” the senator said. “This to me is just unnerving to its core.”

Ole Roller Coaster Lindsey is at it again.... Nobody is Washington is harder to read than this guy... As much as I hate to admit it, I THINK his heart and mind is generally in the right place, but he's selectively blind to most of Trump's unacceptable behavior...

The eye scales are rarely removed naturally... sometimes they have to be shot off...

This thread can go one of two ways.. a general discussion of Trump's Syria policy changes or how Lindsey is responding to it... and Lindsey's unpredictable responses to Trump actions in general.... I hope it's the latter...

Is Trump going to publicly rebuke Lindsey for daring to question der Bossman today??

Is Lindsey serious in wanting to try and stop this Syria action in the Senate?

Well, as Trump has often said, we have been fighting other countries wars for too long.

Trump has to have something on Lindsey

No one reverses his principles and whores himself out like that without being extorted

    That's odd

Could have sworn it was Bush that invaded Iraq and created this mess

A more accurate description would be "Israel's mess in Syria."

What if he doesn't?? He has a lot of friends in low places... This might be another formal rebuke of Trump actions, after the Yemen war resolution in May..

Once you find you can challenge Trump on policy without blowback, how hard is it to imagine challenging his personal behavior??

    There's ALWAYS strength in numbers....

You confuse republicans who have independent thought with the democrats who march (goosestep) in unison on every issue

ISIS came from Iraq, after Obama let their leader out of US Custody. But ISIS is not the major issue in Syria...the Syrian Civil War started before ISIS came into the country. Obama and Clinton's total failure during the Arab Spring lead us to where we are today...not to mentioned during the "more flexible" policy they invited Putin in

    Bwahahahaha

There would be no ISIS if Bush hadn't destabilized the whole region

And sorry, but yes, ISIS was what started the mess in Syria

    Again, please check your facts

There is really not much difference in the dems

They are all pushing the same barely disguised marxist agenda

The only question is which one will get the nomination

No, the Syrian Civil War after the Arab Spring.

There would be no ISIS had Obama not released their leader, and moreover was a better leader and had better foreign policy in dealing with the Arab Spring.

Bush didn't destablize it....Obama even admitted that Iraq was free and stable....

I saw most Republicans goosestep their way through the Sunday shows behind the head goose... Other than Lindsey, sometimes Mitt and every once in a while Marco, the Republicans in the Senate are just 1 person to me...**

Haven't seen evidence of an independent thought from that crew since 2016....

Sorry to have to be the one to break that news to you..

Another one who is going to be in big trouble in 2020?? Ernst of Iowa.... They don't suffer the same fools twice...

** EDIT - Sorry, add Rand Paul to that list... he's sort of his own person too... Amazing if he doesn't come out against Trump's behavior at some point...

Bush had their leader locked up...Obama released him.

Again we are talking about Syria...the problems started because of the Syrian Civil War

I remember when America stood by it's allies who had fought and died beside them

But maybe it's just my patriotism and military experience

I hadn't considered the Coward's point of view

The only reason ISIS is in decline is because the Russians helping the Syrians kicked their ass.
