I liked Governor Noem's speech as well. Very presidential-like and it set the bar for Trump to deliver and he did(in my view.) Obviously, the left doesn't like that certain actors were called out and singled out. It needed to be done, no one else was doing it.

If Noem ran for the Republican nomination in 2024, I would personally volunteer to work on her campaign staff(and obviously vote on Election day.)

 

A Nikki Haley/Kristi Noem ticket would be interesting.

 

They live in this country. Do you think this guy is who they want in office?

 

I was thinking more, Kristi herself aiming for the Presidency. And I think for VP, if she chose someone like Tim Scott it would really make Democratic voters heads go NUTS. Who in that case do they vote for? If they go with identity politics, a Noem/Scott ticket checks all of the boxes but it'll usher in a conservative administration(hey, not my problem. It's clearly better than the alternative)

 

In another thread a few days ago, I made the comment that Trump was sowing seeds of division. In response, I got a lot of 'whataboutisms' regarding Obama. The only evidence was a cropped video of him suggesting he would bring a gun to a knife fight. Taken literally, of course. In watching that speech last night, it was blatant evidence of his encouragement of division. But no matter what, it will not be seen that way by his followers. I had hoped I would come here this morning and see a couple who would recognize he'd gone too far - that he used the 4th celebration as a campaign tool. But nope. Disappointing...

 

We both know the overwhelming majority of protesters were peaceful. You guys are in power (for now), so why don't you arrest and prosecute the perps?

Yeah it's pretty funny to see how Trump fans ere outraged at Hillary's Basket of deplorables comment now applauding Trump's ridiculous broad brush line in the sand depiction of democrats. I found it such a shame that Trump threw away a well crafted speech by being so incredibly divisive with no searching for common ground or even holding out a modest olive branch. For memory, this is Hillary's comment that ther ight got so butt hurt about

Obviously, I was never going to be voting for Trump, this is just one more notch of moral turpitude on Trump's part. Using the 4th of July like that is just unamerican. Shame on him.

Of course we knew that his hardcore fans on here would lap it up. However, I think his hardened fan base is getting smaller. More and more are starting to see through his spiel and discover the self centered narcissist behind the nice looking suit wrapped in the flag.

I think the latest issue with Putin and the bounty has made an impact. Active military families, I'm sure, are not happy to have this question hanging in the air - with no reassurance or even acknowledgement from Trump - while their sons, daughters, husbands, wives, fathers and mothers could be in even more danger than they normally would be.

 

Sweet Potato Hitler has no choice but to put all his energy and hopes into his Nuremberg rallies. His poll numbers are in the crapper.

 

I guess your message is that if I want an intelligent and substantive political conversation then you aren't the person to expect that from because you are all about the pictures and rhetoric. Got it.

That still doesn't address that pile of feces kind of leadership that we see in Chicago, Baltimore, Seattle, Oakland and other Democrat ran cities with high crime rates that I mentioned in my prior post. Don't bother answering because if you do it will probably be as non related and off topic as this post of yours was.

 

They need to stop making him read in front of people. It’s just embarrassing. Just let him ramble like he does at the other rallies.

Funny thing is: Not a single left person complaining about it, could actually meaningfully reject the rioters and protesters. At best, we hear a couple "They're NOT the same". But, they're on the same streets? Chanting the same things? Promoting the same causes?

Well....? You are what you associate with, that's what we learned from Nick Sandmann being targeted. So why can't the Left accept what it dishes out? It's the same thing ironically with those violent individuals. They can gang up on people, but as soon as people defend themselves they back off.

Maybe, just maybe we shouldn't participate in behavior that is widely condemnable to avoid being condemned.

No. The peaceful protests have all happened in predominately Democratic states lead by Democratic Governors and Democratic police chiefs. Why haven't you arrested and prosecuted the perps?
