This amazed me so much I figured the forum would like to examine this video.

What the heck? The guy called it a snake. Can this be true? I never heard of a snake inside the tree trunk.

Any experts know what this is?

For the record, the report shows a log with no bark on it. I don't believe he just cut down a tree for that reason.

I looked it up, and numerous snakes use rotting trees as hibernation dens, including Black Snakes in the US...

My brother ran across snakes all the time in trees when he worked for a tree service company. I had the bejesus scared out of me today when I rounded a dead tree a little too close and thought I was face to face with a snake. Turned it it had shed its skin on the side of the tree and it was still hanging there on the side of the tree. Was cleaning back brush before I call the tree company to get a quote on taking it down. It is very close to the power lines, dead, tall, and will have to have a bucket truck because if you cut it at the base, the top is at risk on coming down on the saw operator. I may end up having to have a few extra trees taken down just so they can safely deal with this one.
