We live it. I know Christians who carry guns, who drink, or both or neither. (just not at the same time). The Bible is open to interpretation on some issues. Christians as an example of right wingers are not in lockstep.
It's in the Bible. Paul dealt with this subject with the differences between the early churches. It's still going on today. Catholics won't use contraception, but have no problem drinking. Baptists are typically just the opposite. Some Christians are pacifists, others have no problem with self DEFENSE. How many different denominations of Christianity are there? That's fewer than the number of differences in interpretation of the Bible. Some Conservatives are gay or atheist. There is nothing in the party platform that forces people to march in lockstep. Why don't you give me an example of Republicans forcing lockstep. Several senators are considering voting against Kavanaugh. They only have to face their electorate.
