Exactly, brief mention on local news. And down the memory hole it goes.

So, in the seeming absence of a viable solution , you think it’s ok to riot and loot? Somebody died today because of it.

I don’t pretend to have any solution but I know for a solid fact that rioting and looting is the most wrong answer there is. I would suggest another approach that is not equal to destroying the neighborhood you live in for starters.

If you want to erase a stereotype about you, the last thing you should do is exactly what you’re being stereotyped as.

this is a double screw up for the cops in Minneapolis ...

first it is on video the guy was not resisting

all they had to do was cuff him and put him in the back of a police car until the issue was solved

but instead they wanted to show force..and killed the guy

the second screw up was not arresting at least the guy with his knee on the guys neck

they fired the cops ..big whoop...

ALL 4 cops should have been arrested

an arrest would have maybe helped avoid the riots ..

cops are stupid..nobody remembered the Rodney King riots??

the riot was when after the trial no one was found guilty and the cops walked

they should have arrested all 4 cops and put them in protective custody ...

instead a 100 cops circled the cops home to protect him

after all they are cops they know the drill....a holding cell aint too bad

there is plenty of room there too..it was where the dead guy should have been

but George Floyd is in the morgue ...at worst he should have been in a holding cell

a sad day for police officers....

and even sadder for the family of George Floyd

Of course it is. Any opinion that disagrees with yours is either BS or silly according to your opinion.
But the fact that you criticize the actions of other people without having experienced yourself
what they are going through can hardly be considered "logic".

When your opinion is BS it's BS. Your first post to me implied I cant denounce both cops and looters. Whose actions am I criticizing? Do tell, perhaps go for another dishonest strawman...go!

I can neither condone nor condemn what they are doing. I have never experienced what they have.
For all I know, I might do worse then they are.... and so might you or anyone else here if the situation was bad enough.

The city administration of Minnfracturedness is taking this very seriously and has asked the rioters and looters to social distance and wear masks, and has said the free masks are available for rioters and looters and burners.

So you admit to "denouncing" people in one sentence and then ask "who am I criticizing" in the next sentence.
Who are you to denounce anybody? Why is denouncing someone so important to you?

All those things have been tried in the past. They didn't change anything.
The proof is obvious. It just keeps happening over and over again.
Why? Because what is happening to black people doesn't affect you personally.
Until it does, things will stay the same for them.

    1. Looting burning killing are wrong.
    2. The black community does deserve respect.
    3. The entire black community did not riot loot and burn so you should not withhold respect to those who did not.
    4. Blame the crime on the criminal not the race of the criminal

You might want to justify looting and lawlessness but I guarantee you are in a fringe minority. Do you also justify Antifa?

And in the end it will not make one damn bit of difference. These riots, burnings, and lootings are like the Wild West when a mob broke into the jail, removed a prisoner, and hung him before he could get the trial he was entitled to -- except the rioters can't get their hands on the man who will be tried.

In the end the laws of the state of Minnesota will prevail -- a grand jury and a trial jury will sit and hear all the evidence, weigh the evidence under the law, and then the trial jury will render a verdict at the end of the trial.

    Thank you for reply.
But I don't see how I am justifying anyone's actions. I'm simply admitting that I am no better then they are and therefore can't condemn them
without having a better solution. And so far nobody has offered anything that hasn't already failed.
Neither rioting nor peaceful protests have made any real difference in the past.
You just say they are "stupid" for rioting. Maybe so. But how do you know that you would not behave the same way
    given the right situation?

They are rioting and looting because the democratic leadership in Minneapolis refuse to do their jobs and protect the citizens there. It is as simple as that. Democrats want to have the violence unfold, wait for it, because it's great TV they are providing the networks who protect them. Gosh, it does seem pretty simple when you get to the bottom of it all.

Oh, and thank god the looters are sparing the black owned businesses who put signs in their windows telling the looters to loot or riot elsewhere because, you know... racism.

    • Insulting or personally attacking other posters (Rule 2/7)
    <Rule 2/7>

The "Black community" as you so warmingly call them has been peacefully asking for this to end for decades.

    <Rule 9>

Remember Colin Kaepernick? He took a knee in protest. Did you stand up and say "what can be done?" No! You didn't.

So please stop the hypocritical hand wringing and tongue clicking now. It shows the racism endemic in every corner of White society.

I abhor violence always. There is never an excuse for violence except minimal use in self defence. But, to point at what's happening, act surprised, then say stuff like "how can they expect respect when..." is just flat out racist.

Don't try walking a mile in their shoes. It's not possible. Try walking a mile in their neighborhoods. Every day. Try talking to people in those neighborhoods on your walk. Try learning that despite the visible differences they're just people like you. They want the same things you want. Now understand. If that person takes the same walk through your neighborhood...

There's a good chance the neighbors call the police
There's a good chance the neighbors pull a gun
There's a good chance the police make an arrest
There's a good chance the person is beaten by the police for "walking while Black"
There's a good chance that person could die.

When you understand all of that if it doesn't sicken you and cause you to demand change then I pity you more than if fear for them.

I am no better than they are, but I'm not doing the violence that they are doing in action, therefore I can and do condemn them.

"Condemning" is an act of violence.

Nope. Condemning is a decision made in the mind, or a verdict rendered by a lawfully empaneled trial jury.

    Thank you for the clarity.
