So I'm female, 24 yrs. old and I don't have health insurance but I need to get some.

Does anyone know any good companies because its really confusing?

I'm not so much worried about the cost as I am the complete coverage with a good reputable company.

I'm thinking about catastrophic insurance and don't mind paying a bit more out of pocket for that but I'm not even aware who offers it.

I'm completely new at searching for stuff like this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Searching the internet is confusing and before I start paying out the teeth for insurance I'd like to check with you guys to make sure I'm picking the right one.

So for instance, if I get cancer I just want it paid for and not have to worry about it after the deductible, go to whatever doctor I want wherever I want.

I'd prefer not to spend 10 grand first but if I have to then so be it.

Mostly I want a good insurance company that hospitals know and accept, not some fly by night Obamacare thing.

    Marry me, problem solved...lol

Seriously though, look into concierge doctors. It's new and I am not sure if it is available in your area.

Plus as a Christian I am limited to who I can marry.

I have a feeling that is strike 2 for you.

Strike 3 for me is marriage is the leading cause of divorce. But that is off topic.

In my experience in shopping for health insurance outside of group (work related) is that catastrophic insurance isn't available to me.

I am doing Kaiser and they are a lot cheaper than other healthcare options. They are only available in big city areas on the west coast though. If you are young, you are better off being careful, and getting some cheap insurance, or getting a job and healthcare through your employer.

In New York, who does their own exchange, You can look up which healthcare companies are operating in what region. You'd want to get a local health insurance provider.

Also I would suggest that you see what insurance companies your doctors accept.

Finally if you want you can try to see if the gold plan is just a tiny, little bit more expensive than the silver plan. I seem to recall that gold plans are now cheaper.

Oh, and by the way, the exchange plans don't offer vision and dental (unless you're on Medicaid), but if you buy a plan directly from the health insurance company you can get vision and dental plans for just a bit more.

Hey, did you find a healthcare plan?? I was just wondering because I was just reading a healthcare thread, Why I(still) oppose "Medicare for All", and it reminded me of this. Plus you're one of my favorite posters, so I was thinking about you.

    Good advice!

I would add that these systems are not limited to those who may need help with payment.

They are there to help everyone.

My state's system (WA) gives a full representation of what's available. If you don't need financial help, you end up with a direct relationship with the company you choose.

Dental and vision are just two of the features that the system allows you to select if the company offers that - which is pretty much always the case.

So, I would strongly advise people to go to their state's system or the federal system regardless of income.

Now wait. Is being a Christian also negotiable or is that a non starter ?

    It's not negotiable.

But there is some wiggle room.

For instance, you have to say you believe in God, you can't deny Him.

If God led me to that person than that would work.

Obviously I am there to change him.

Seriously, it’s not as bad as it sounds. There are many worthwhile occupations in the Air and army guard units in which women traditional serve with distinction. You can actually serve in a medical unit.

Oops. Seriously ? You want to change a thoughtful person who truthfully and honestly sees no proof to someone who believes in fairy tails and make a dishonest person of him ? ;)
