seems to me the more salient point is how many news outlets are reporting on Matt Walsh's warnings without having even looked at the site he claims is the proof he has.

...because that site is obviously a troll site.

Did you bother to see what 'proof' Matt Walsh has at project2025.com ?

I don't think that was in the OP ...the OP is referring to Matt Walsh's remarks claiming 'now the elcteion is over we can admit 2025 is real' ...an obvious troll for anyone that bothers to look in to the website he sites.

Did you come here to discuss the OP, or your own thing?

    His agenda = Project 2025.

Steve Bannon and other MAGAts celebrate it.

Why he went through so much trouble to lie about is beyond me, but if I have to guess it's because he is going to implement Project 2025 and wants to be in position to claim the ideas as his own.

No clue what this is supposed to mean. It came from a well known MAGA influencer

Yep. Not sure why he feels compelled to lie about it. Project 2025 is pretty standard stuff, - nothing new, but I have a feeling he lies, so he can claim the ideas as his own as opposed to being seen for what he really is, - a tool for the political elite.

Did you check out https://www.project2025.com/ for yourself? Or are you just taking the 'well known MAGA influencer's claims at face value without looking at his evidence?

Like I said it seems like standard Republican playbook, nothing new or sensational about it, which is why I wonder why Trump had to lie about it. I think he wants to claim the ideas as own, because that's just the way he rolls.

If you click on the link, you'll quickly realize its a troll. Matt Walsh is using people like you and the mainstream media to either generate clicks on his ad website for his new movie ( project2025.com ), or making a statement about dishonest/inept journalism that wont bother to even check out the website they're promoting on his behalf, or most likely both at the same time.

But dont let me get in the way of Matt Walsh making a fool out of you... if you'd rather let Newsweek tell you what Matt Walsh means instead of getting it from the man himself (who has made it abundantly clear he's trolling you), well enjoy your fantasy I guess. Not sure what you're getting out of it...

Not sure what your link has to do with anything, but whatever gets you through the night. It seems lot of Republican heavy hitters are in agreement, including Steve Bannon

"Steve Bannon, former Trump adviser and podcast host, didn’t waste time celebrating. Fresh out of prison, Bannon enthusiastically held up a copy of the project on his War Room podcast, proclaiming it as a conservative triumph. "

That analogy is not how you win an argument with a person who believes in less government not more. Try defending the need for a big government instead. The deep state likes big inefficient governments because they use it as a social program to get more people dependent on government. That’s how the deep state controls people.

Deep state is an imaginary boogie-man, - a conspiracy theory. People with certain mind-set need things to fear, and they need political "leaders" to save them from those fears. Such people are easily manipulated.

It's not a boogeyman. It is what it is, - a RW playbook, a long wish list, which has barely changed over the decades. The Heritage Foundation is not the Illuminati or "deep state" which is out to destroy America, it's simply a conservative think tank. Why Trump wants to distance himself from it is somewhat weird. Most conservatives would be in agreement with most of Project 2025.

Which parts of it do you find unacceptable?

Any bad thing that will happen with Americans is a result of Democrat's agenda pushed by insane deep state politicians.
Irrespective of Project 2025, people will consistently oppose:

    The legalization of criminal activities,
    A culture of extinction,
Government welfare that is not merit-based.

Deep state is real, who else can promote idiotic, crazy policies?
No politician will ever try to push something that is against people's will.

    What crazy policies?

People's will. You make it sound like all Americans agree with everyone, but American people don't all share the same "will". Therefore there are different politicians representing people with different views. So, yes, some politicians will push for things which go against some people's will, but that doesn't mean they are "deep state", they just represent different views.

Deep stats IS a Trump / QAnon / John Birch conspiracy theory.

150 genders, allowing males to be in women's bathroom etc.
Why you are pretending like nothing has happened?

I am not even talking about legalizing theft and other things, that normal (not sick) people would never approved.

Whether or not Trump knew about project 2025, much of it aligns with his campaign promises anyway.

I imagine some of the further right propositions in it he doesn't agree with, but most he does.

He's a Republican for a reason after all. He didn't randomly choose a party.

Project 2025 is mostly common sense stuff.

So.......you think that kind of thing is a "deep state policy".....?

Ok. I see where the confusion is coming from.

    Carry on corporal.

Sure, I have said it 2-3 times on this thread that it's a RW wish list, which has remained mostly unchanged for decades, and the Heritage Foundation is not an Illuminati style secret organization plotting to take down the US. It's a conservative think tank, and they have produced some decent ideas in the past. Did you know ACA was largely founded on Heritage Foundation idea for healthcare in US. They wrote it in the 1990s, and it included insurance mandate, because they thought everyone should have skin in the game.

Project 2025 is a RW wish policy list, and I don't get it why Trump had to lie say (initially) he knew nothing about it, only to immediately contradict himself by adding that many of the ideas in the list were absurd.

Heritage foundation said they got Trump push for over 70% of their ideas in Project 2016 document.

IMO he lied because he intends to use it as a manual for his admin, and he wants people to think the ideas are his own, and not hatched by others

There is no way my logic can be defeated. Those kind of idiotic policies are coming from somewhere.
It is unlikely that these initiatives originate from either the general populace or politicians. It appears that politicians may be compelled by some kind of institutions to enact such asinine programs.

With Republican's full control, we are all likely to experience significant future hardship due to the potential lack of adequate healthcare, probable absence of social security, and further dismantling of all earned entitlements. This situation can be attributed to the actions of the Democratic Party.

There is no logic, since they are obviously policies.
