"The rally in Taipei - where many were dressed in black and some clutched sunflowers to symbolize hope - was one of the largest in recent years in Taiwan, an island that split from China over six decades ago after a civil war.

Protesters say the deal to open 80 of China's service sectors to Taiwan and 64 Taiwanese sectors to China was rushed through, and could leave Taiwan increasingly beholden to China's Communist Party leaders.

Some called for the resignation of Taiwan's China-friendly president Ma Ying-jeou, whose popularity has plunged despite helping to improve ties with China since taking office in 2008.

"We must safeguard our island's interests," said Chin Mei Ching, a 29-year-old mother who was pushing her one-year-old daughter in a buggy. "We have to guard against China using the economy to control us."..."

    1. Again the main driving force is propaganda and students. So was the Ukraine. (Georgia, Egypt, Venezuella etc) So is Taiwan.
    2. Again the aggressive crowd is opposing the 'bad' countries's efforts to reunify with the help of economics. In one case - Russia. In the other - China. Like it was the center of north african integration in Libya and Egypt with Syria as a potential integrators of not-islamic arabs.
    3. Again the symbols of color. Orange in Ukraine, black in Taiwan (rose in Georgia and whatever world over)
    4. Again the demand to behead the state no matter what. And absence of dialogue. So was in the Ukraine. So is in Taiwan (so was in georgia and Libya and Syria)

The only miserable guy who is obviously not responsible for it but should is bloody Vlad Putin (and Assad and Gaddafi).

My dear americans, how do you find supporting such a government which spills so much blood over the world? Or as long as it is the blood of bad guys and good guys keep winning - it's fine?

My dear Yazverg : we Americans like our government just fine, thank you for asking.

We have posters here (usually wannabee academics, or pimple-faced youth, living in their mothers' basements) who echo the same empty fictions you employ--but we rarely take them seriously.

    Have a wonderful day !

Glad to hear it. Because once I read the opinions of americans about a too peaceful policy of Obama I cannot imagine what should the president of US look like to suit the expectations of most internet posters here. Maybe something like your current avatar looks like plus an ability to kill an opponent with the stings at his tale will do. But maybe even this will be not enough.

    Nevertheless thanks for answering.

Everything is understood by comparisons. Obama is a dove. Look back at our chimp-like president Bush. Obama is ending two wars and does not want to start the third one. Watch out, if we elect Hillary Clinton, she may be quite different. To keep NATO at bay, Russia needs more updated and deadly arms and always stay vigilant, because our presidents and other politicians are rather bought by corporations then elected by people. Even if a president is elected by people, he is forced to continue most of the same policies under pressure of big corporations.
