That's socialized medicine. It's medical care paid for by the taxpayers.

You're paying now. What do you think cost shifting is? If you are insured, you are paying the bill for the elderly, the indigent and million dollar premature babies.

Nope.. the VA is socialized medicine. The government owns and operates the hospitals and employs physicians and staff.

Yeah I know. My point was that the older data compared pneumonia to pneumonia, rather than the patient to patient comparison in the conservative source. Since VA patients are sicker, a pneumonia to pneumonia comparison is better. Thus, I can say that the VA was cheaper back in the late 90s, and that probably has not changed.

That is not true. All tests were standardized. The Negroes had a much higher failure rate. Guess what? They have a much higher failure rate on ANY standardized test on any subject at any time. Prove Mirabeau wrong.

If I ever knew it, I don't remember. There are two codes for pneumonia.. one is simple pneumonia and the other is hell and billed at a much higher rate.

    Four types?

So how are these cost comparisons done?
What diagnoses and clinical situations are compared?
Keep in mind Europe has been using icd10 for years while the US has recently changed over to this 10,000+ code monstrosity

What? "Negro?" I'm pretty old fashioned, even stodgy myself, but unless you are quoting something, or are living in 1965, that's a tell.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure I'm right. But is has been years since I study the subject. When I have the time in the next month or so, I will read up on it again, because yes, I should be better able to defend my statement.

you can use any term you like. By next week that will be offensive too. Political pandering, nothing more.

There's always going to be the easily offended, but the term negro has been outdated for 50 years and was replaced by the label black after black civil rights activists started using it as a replacement. Negro was too like another n word. It was also a word of their choosing unlike the Jim Crow South's.

So use the word black instead if you're worried about pandering.

Just because the majority (albeit a rather small majority) wants something, doesn't mean it's good in any way. Just look at the VA and how it failed.

    Ye a h, go figure.
A majority of Americans want government to take from others and give to them. Who'd have thunk it?

As long as all of the:

    - illegals
    - anchor babies
    - anyone in the last 25 years who became a citizen by being born in the US to one or more illegal parents

    are all deported, and:

    - immigrant numbers of 1 MM / year are reduced to 1/10th of that amount
    - birthright citizenship is terminated

so the single payer system does not cover any of the above, I support it as well.
