Back woods hiking, on the lam, zombie apocalypse, Hillary Clinton ? There is still NO reason to go without your cup of joe. Set yourself up like Lonnie here and put it in your bugout bag.

I have a percolator that is metal and you can put it right on a fire. I love that thing. I even make my coffee in the house with it on my stove top. I like how the coffee tastes when it's percolated.

I'm off for 4 days on the Rogue River in the morning.

I will be using my French press that makes nearly a quart and doubles as a coffe cup - harrr!

I can tell he has spent lots of time in the woods.

To make cowboy coffee add 1/4 c ground coffee and 1/4 c sugar to 20 oz water. You can do it in the evening before going to bed and let it soak overnight. In the morning bring the coffee to a boil and take off heat. Let it steep for 5 minutes. Pour off into a cup. If you can stand grounds in you coffee you can strain it through a piece of window screen. If you have let it soak overnight no screen is necessary as the grounds will sink to the bottom.
Brown sugar adds an interesting taste. A packet of instant cocoa makes it a mocha.
