There appears to be some kind of link between sexual perversion, powerful men and authoritarianism/sadism. I think Rudy was struggling for relevance. Likely, Trump smelled that desperation and set his hook. Rudy drank the koolaid, he probably got paid excessively well and sold his soul. It's hard to imagine now, but Rudy was a really good mayor of NYC and really did a good job on, and after, 9/11. I really wish we had that Rudy back as mayor. After leaving office, he could have become a respected elder of the Republican party, even a king maker, but instead, he sold his soul for money and he has become an actual joke.
