'New York City elitists are terrified that if the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 passes through both houses of Congress and is signed into law, that yokels from out of town will stroll into Manhattan with a lawfully concealed weapon and not be thrown in jail like the peasants they clearly are.'
NYC's permit system has been corrupt and little more than a perk for the wealthy and connected for many years.Of course, they COULD get rid of their own CC law but what about the celebrities and mayor's friends?

If the state of OH has to accept same sex marriage from the state of NY then the state of NY has to accept a social workers license from OH.....oh ...wait....it doesn't. LOL

If anyone tried to lay any of the restrictions liberals seek on the right to keep and bear arms on the right to an abortion, their face-melting screams would be heard on the moon.

I'm sorry -- you need to pay $480 for a permit, $25 for registration and a $1000 tax. You also need to wait five business days while we make sure you aren't crazy.

If licenses to operate a motor vehicle must be accepted nationwide, regardless of differing standards for differing states, thee is quite literally no reason that the standards for concealed carry permits should not apply as well. Reciprocity has already proven to not be creating any significant issues in need of being address.

I didn't see anything in US Constitution about not infringing on the right to drive cars.

Guns control laws are forbidden per the exact language of the USC for honest, law abiding citizens.

All gun control laws passed since 1789 should be abolished.

If they told lies, I could see your point.

As far as N.Y.C. they are telling the Truth, you just do not like neither the Truth nor Pro-Gun
Web sites, in your Anti-Gun Quest for the
Holy Grail of the Anti-Gunners, you seek not the Truth, you seek soothing Anti-Gun statistics, be they lie or be they truth, you grind them up to make your bread.

Seek Truth, and the Truth shall set you free.

    How so?

Keep in mind that any right ends where the rights of others begin. I can swing a fist all day long until I violate the rights of somebody's nose.

I can say what I want, as long as my speech hurts nobody. (yelling fire in a crowded theater)

My newspaper can print what they want. (They are of course subject to liable laws based on what they write.)

I can assemble in front of city hall or wherever, so long as I don't block city streets or encroach on private property.

You must be talking about New York, where you have to have a permit to scratch your butt.

You can own a gun .....unless possession of that gun represents a danger to the community. And that would be true if you are a felon, insane or untrained. So we can require those things to make sure you do not violate our rights. We call those things gun control

Citizens should be allowed to carry any type of firearm onto an airplane?

I have flown with a gun many times on a plane. In fact, if I am not mistaken there is a state where it still may be manditory.

All you need to do is suggest they drive a mile to pick up their free ID card to get that.

That's not gun control. That's due process. That takes a court of law and is based on the crimes committed or a hearing of competency.

Where does the Constitution say you can require training to own a gun? We do just fine in free states.

When states refuse to abide by the law, and instead look for any manner available to intentionally inhibit on the legal exercise of constitutional rights by the public, they are punished for their actions as a result. National reciprocity is just such an example. The state of New York has proven that it has no interest in following the united stats constitution, or the rulings of the supreme court that run counter to its interest, so the choice is being taken away from them.

Where does the constitution say that you can require a permit before I assemble my group?

You should consult with the ACLU on your exact needs for your situation. In another subforum on the 1st Amendment.

I appreciate the information that showed MANY cases where prior restraint is constitutional. Totally applies to guns

With regards to public gatherings om public property. Carrying a firearm discomposes no one.
