Funny, now that I think about it, I've never been to an NBA game, either.

I've been to some good college games, though. The most exciting was the 2007 CAA tournament championship when Eric Maynor single-handedly brought us back from 5 down in the last 2 minutes to beat George Mason...

    What an unbelievable finish!

Sure was - that was the year after George Mason made its run to the Final Four. Maynor was just a sophomore that year.

We have this guy to thank for bringing him to VCU:

VCU coach Smart rejects Illini offer.
Talon, you have to be happy about this, but also still a little worried that an offer will come down the pike that he can't refuse.

Thanks for the good news, arjay. :)

I really didn't think Shaka was going to jump to Illinois. He just took a team full of freshmen and sophomores that wasn't supposed to finish over .500 to 29 wins, the CAA title and then on to the second round of the Big Dance, and this team is only going to keep getting better. Furthermore, these kids already have NCAA tournament experience under their belts - they're gonna be a force to be reckoned with in two years.

Bottom line, Shaka's got it made at VCU - he doesn't want to end up getting screwed like Jeff Capel did when he left the Rams for Oklahoma. I think it's going to take another couple years and an offer from one of the truly elite programs in the country to pry him loose...

Y'all need to git yer heads straight.VCU means nothing. They're
like a pissant bubble team.Little tradition.Rely on an automatic bid.
Now take Louisville.5th most active all time in NCAA appearances
since records have been kept.Early 70's.
Kentucky leading with it's 51st.Kentucky has the Most talented team
this year.I predicted early On Cincy because they are tough
with great quick hands { steals and Defense } and can shoot the
    lights out,almost on command.
VCU ... I mean come on.I couldn't git worked up over some VCU team if
they gave away free joints in the stands.

Cinci took a ass whooping last night. Aaron Craft was all over those boys on defense, and Cinci couldn't match up in the paint.

Obviously, tradition hasn't delivered some of Lousville's fans a lick of class and sportsmanship.

It's too bad VCU didn't get a chance to run over Louisville on our way to the Final Four last year, but your tradition couldn't get you out of the first round against a "pissant bubble team" like Morehead State...:b0x0rz:

I'm looking forward to that Ohio State-Syracuse match-up. I expected OSU to play well, but the 'Cuse has exceeded my expectations since they faltered in the Big East tournament and then lost Fab Melo...

Sorry Talon, you're looking at it all wrong. Don't you realize "great tradition" & $2 can get you a pretty good cup of coffee?!

Last year's near buzzer beater with Morehead State was a flat
out robbery. An obvious foul, not even close in the waning seconds
would have put a really good shooter { Mike Marra } at
the freethrow line for the win.Moreheads Faried { their outstanding
NBA bound player with the Rastafari hairdo} without question fouled
Marra with just a few ticks left on the clock.
The worse Non Call in college basketball last year.

    Saturday,4:30EST=Florida -1 Louisville;7:05EST=Ohio St. -3 Syracuse
    Sunday,2:20EST= Kentucky -7.5 Baylor;5:05EST=Kansas -2.5 North Carolina

From a competitive standpoint, should be a great watch. I work evenings, so I didn't get to see any of the Sweet 16 games, but looking forward to these games. From an underdog view, not much to cheer for. Since I picked Ky. to win it all & I don't really believe in Baylor, should I waste emotional capital rooting for them to win? I do think Baylor can keep it close though, so lets go Bears! As for the rest of the games, I'll find somebody to root for.:woot:

I got your boys in the final against Kentucky for my money pool bracket. They better get there...or else...

My final four would have been perfect if Marquette did not choke on a bag of dick...

Yeah Baby.Florida knocks down 8 {3's } in the first half.
Shoot over 60% up until the final 10 minutes.
Louisville in Foul trouble early and find a way to win.
    Like I said ... Baby ... Tradition.
Louisville's NINTH trip to the Final 4.
    Got it now.

My Buckeyes advance to their 11th Final Four! I'm hoping we get Kansas so the Buckeyes can avenge the loss to them earlier in the year where Sullinger didn't play.

Watched most of the Cards/Gators game, but only saw 2nd half of Orange/Buckeye game. Was truly unimpressed with the refereeing. Would they just let the kids play already?! I thought Louisville won despite the reffing & in the other game, I thought the reffing was equally bad for both teams. Found myself rooting for the Big East teams, but OSU clearly outplayed Syracuse & deserved to win. Kansas/N.C. should be a war & now I'm kinda rooting for a Ky.Louisville Semi-Final. Whatever happens, it should be fun!
