They probably did it with the hope that she would want to plea bargain, and perhaps reveal some incriminating evidence about the conservative politicians she knew as well as the members of the NRA. The only problem was that she had nothing to reveal other than wanting to influence them towards a bettering of relations with Russia.

I think that when this is behind us there will be so many movies made of all this that we won't be able to keep up with them all. There will be docudramas, recreations of events, Netflix will probably have a series, and 20th Century Fox will produce at least 3 movies, one will have Julia Roberts in it as Kristjen Nielson. There will be books, articles and op-ed pieces for years and years to come.
