'Dow falls more than 700 points on trade fears, now back into correction territory'

    '
U.S. stocks fell sharply on Thursday, pressured by worries of a potential trade war and a decline in tech shares. The broader market was also pressured by a decline in bank stocks.

The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 724 points, with Caterpillar, 3M and Boeing as the biggest decliners. The 30-stock index also entered correction territory for the first time since last month, falling 10 percent from its 52-week high.

The S&P 500 fell 2.5 percent, with tech, health care and financials all falling. The Nasdaq composite pulled back 2.3 percent.'

Yep, tariff boy and his moronic republican economic advisers did a number on global markets again today.

Your Dow crossed that 24,000 mark again, in the wrong direction...

Big losses in European and most Asian markets too

Nice goin', Trumplov ... you and your republican 'yes-men' flunkies might've ****** up the entire global economy...

Yep, Trump is a moron, if things continue this way, we’ll lose all 2017 gains in about 1.5 months.

What?! Trump supporters on this forum ASSURED me that it would be super easy!

And if you incorporate the 10% drop in value of the dollar over the last 12 months, the index would be nearly the same value as it was a year ago

The silence from the Trumpsters is deafening.

First we had the TPP withdrawal.

Then we has the trade war launched against Canada over wood.

Then we had the Paris Accords.

Then we had the steel tarriffs.

Then we exempted all of our allies from them.

    Now it's China's turn.

This moron actually believes that we can threaten China and South Korea and, at the same time, expect them to support us over North Korea.

BTW, the North Koreans haven't said one word since Trump announced he was going to talk to them! Guess that's not going to happen either.

    Oh boy!

Imagine the fawning of the Trump fans had the Dow risen by 741 points instead. There would be accolades to the great Trump economy -- everybody winning.

Conspicuously, Trump has stopped mentioning the stock market since January. Why could that be?

I agree, but this has normally been a conservative position. I don't want to label you but you seem like a more liberal poster here, so what happened?

Yawn, market corrections are good and healthy, while the top is in for at least a few years, a decent correction represents an excellent buying opportunity.

Meanwhile, on Main (as opposed to Wall) street:

The numbers: Initial U.S. jobless claims rose by 3,000 to 229,000 in mid-March, but they remain near the lowest levels since 1970. And the number of people collecting benefits fell to a fresh 45-year low.

Tell this to China, they've been winning their trade war for decades as we haven't even attempted to fight back, they are laughing at "Trade wars are not winnable" simplistic gibberish all the way to the bank.

Why do you think there was a trade war before Trump?

Or maybe it has to do with the market correction that's been shouted from the rooftops for some time now, and is mentioned in the last 2 sentences of your OP.

The obama recovery continues strong no matter how hard Trump tries to undermine it.

    Market scare easy.

And Trump is no more going to trade war than he is to korea war.
