looks like we may go through another round of watching democrats lecturing us about wearing masks while they themselves don’t wear them. These rat pukes can piss off. I didn’t wear a mask before and I won’t wear one now.

 

Na, not going to happen. When covid was, on average and depending on age, more lethal than the flu, it made more sense. But omicron isn't. People aren't going to mask and distance just for the minority cases of long covid... particularly in the setting of our exhaustion with it from doing it before. It would have to be at least as bad as the original covid for people to mask up again anytime soon.

If people weren't protected the first time, why would doing the same thing over again for a 2nd time somehow start protecting people? How do the 'holy rituals' of the 'Church of Covid' somehow protect people from "long COVID" (something that doesn't even exist). Why anyone even believes any of this nonsensical tripe anymore is beyond me...

 

Who, ultimately, is paying for long COVID?

 

Quit being so stingy with medicine and just give it to people with long covid earlier. I got covid last December around the 28th is when I felt ill. On the 10th of Jan I went to the emergency room and was give a iv and sent home. A week later went back to the doctor and after an x ray and a chest scan was found to have double pneumonia and blood clots in my lungs. After sleep all day, not being able to eat and feeling terrible I was finally admitted to the hospital. It only took 3 hour on an Iv with medicine and I was feeling beat and was eating, went home the next day. Why did they wait so long to finally give me drugs that work. We have them use them.

Life sucks, doesn’t mean we should mask up

 

I've come to the point where if anybody bitches at me about not participating any stupid rituals I'm just going to start coughing.

Everybody already knows this doesn't do anything.

 

The sad truth is medicine these days isn't about "curing" you, but bleeding your insurance company for all the money they can. So, think about all of the money they made because your health providers didn't simply try to cure you first..

 

Wear a mask. You won't be protecting yourself. But you'll certainly be demonstrating the obedience the party demands....

 

Nobody. "Long covid" doesn't exist. It is a made up term meant to instill fear into gullible people.

 

Alright, let's bring back my little color-coding system from other threads and see if we can figure out what happened. To remind people who are unfamiliar with this system:

Orange = symptom(s)
Blue = where the blame is being placed
Red = the (taboo??) connection/common theme that seemingly "connects the dots"

There is no such thing as "long covid", but yes, our medical system sure sucks nowadays. It sounds like they took their sweet time in diagnosing you with pneumonia, which isn't good because pneumonia is no joke and CAN kill if it progresses far enough.

The funny part about people coming up into your face to bitch at you for not following their 'holy rituals' is not only the fact that they are, per their own claimed viewpoint, "putting themselves into a dangerous situation", but also the fact that they are quite literally not following their own 'holy rituals' that they wish to force YOU to follow.

The Church of Covid is a completely irrational religion.

It's not about safety or guarding against covid. They are upset because you are defiant and they are too weak to be.

You're right about that. Thankfully, the few people who came up to me to talk to me during the height of the fear mongering just shared my sentiment about the masks and commended me on my courage to go into stores maskless.

 

The proper thing to do is resist. Stores are at the mercy of the customer if all the customers walk into the store will not wearing a mask and refused it they're not going to throw out all their customers destroy their own business.

That's how the mandate ended at least in my neck of the woods.

She is a Branch Covidian. Anyone who is a Branch Covidian holds those irrational views. It is a requirement of the faith.

 

Listening to public health experts isn't irrational. Listening to fringe bloggers over public health experts is. Trying to make sense of it yourself is dubious, because controlling for all relevant variables isn't simple. Masks and distancing slowed the spread. This was critical when our hospitals were being overwhelmed with severe cases, putting us at risk of not saving people only because resources are stretched too thin. I don't see omicron doing the same. But it was important before.

 

Covid has always been just as "lethal" as the flu is, which is zero. Covid in and of itself does not kill. It is the opportunistic pneumonia that can develop afterward that can kill.

There is no such thing as "long covid". People are STILL masking and distancing to this very day, even though they aren't being pressured by mandates to do so. Some people are always going to wear masks in public from now on.

If government were to implement a mask mandate again, roughly the same amount of people as did before would (grudgingly or otherwise) put their masks back on.

People are already still masking up even though it isn't even being urged, let alone mandated. No matter how "bad" a virus is, a mask does no good against it. It is a false sense of security.
